SOURCE: How to I replace the oil filter on a 2009 Toyota Camry V6 engine?
Under the engine in the front you will see an aluminum cover. There is a square hole that fits a 3/8 ratchet remove this first. The new filter comes with a drain adapter that snaps in the hole under the cover. This lets the oil in the housing drain. Then take a oil filter cup wrench or a big channel lock to twist of the larger portion. Then change the filter and o-ring and reinstall.Make sure the o-ring on the square drive cover is there also

well that's if I'm not mistaken, catalyst system efficiency THRESHOLD!!! it is "bank" when your description code explanes bank 1 that is a O 2 sensor anything says BANK is a Oxygen sensor = O 2 sensor.what is it doing shutting off when eng warms up or sputtering or nothing really out of normal behavior? these switches will loose all communication with computer or get stuck in 1 of three ranges each range behave differently! in each range the deal with these are these switches are a part of maintenance usa @ hundred thousand km they should be change for emission efficiency and fuel consumption and vehicle performance usually after 1 is changed 9 times out of 10 shortly after the next bank will produce eng light and so on!! I usually change both while I'm at it you know pay me now or pay me again later but twice as much! well hope this helps you out good luck cheers happy new year.John, Toronto,Ontario
SOURCE: Replace a 2004 Camry oil filter
For your car the Oil filter should be on the front left side of the engine as you look at it.
You will more then likely have to remove a small body panel to access it.
The drain plug should be located on the left side of the oil pan as well.
The Filter your car requires is a Wix #51348
Oil Capacity is 4.5 qts with Filter Change, double check your owner's manual or service manual to make sure.
So purchase 6 qts of you have some on hand when you check it and find it's a bit low.
General Procedures.
(adapter to go from 3/8 to1/2 inch for strap wrench), a strap wrench, oil drain pan, leather gloves, funnel and a magnetic retrieval tool
(to retrieve the plug encase you drop it in the hot oil).

Check the Tension on your Belt and the Waterpump. I have never Heard of someone Needing to Replace the Entire Motor just for an Overheating Issue unless it has been Driven too far while Hot or Someone Puts Cold Water in a Hot Motor. Check these things first and get a Second Mechanic to check it out Before you Proceed with an Unneccessary Replacement. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help That I can Get! Thanks!
