The sensors which fit below the passenger seat are missing. I want to know the name of these sensors.

  • Anonymous Oct 14, 2012

The car does not have airbags. The sensors and the connections which are missing are near the engine oil and Transmission lid. Some wires are laying hanging there, it could be the oxygen sensors or Turbo sensors or something else. It could also be the seatbelt sensors. some three wires are laying hanging. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Seat belt sensor or air bag sensor, some cars measure weight in the seat on the passenger side and if it is below a certain amount it disables the passenger air bag, a safety for little kids, other sensor for seat belts, if there is any weight and no seat belt is fastened it will turn the seat belt warning light on in the dash.

DTC B2430 Passenger Seat Heater Circuit

Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's are ?

The driver and passenger seat heaters are controlled by the driver seat module. Power is supplied to the driver seat cushion and back heater elements through individual voltage supply circuits. Power is supplied to the passenger seat cushion and back heater elements through a common voltage supply circuit. All of the driver and passenger seat heater elements are grounded by the driver seat module through individual low side drive control circuits. The heater element control circuits are pulse width modulated to ground by the driver seat module in order to control the seat temperatures by regulating the current flow through the heater elements.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that has diagnostic scanner that can read this code's

DTC B2435 Driver Seat Back Heater Sensor Circuit

DTC B2440 Passenger Seat Back Heater Sensor Circuit

The driver seat module relies on inputs from thermistors installed in the driver and passenger seat backs to control heated seat temperatures. The thermistors are 2-wire sensors supplied with a 5-volt referenced signal circuit and low reference circuit from the driver seat module. Resistance through the thermistors varies with temperature causing the heated seat sensor signal circuit voltage levels to decrease as the seat back temperatures rise.

2008 dodge caliber 1.8 L. Pic of replacement shows nut type ring to fit deep socket. Mine has plastic ring. Part of socket assy for wiring plug. Coolant temp sensor.

I would ck again, you might just be seeing the plastic housing for the wiring connection and missing the actual brass nut directly below that housing, place the socket slightly over the housing and ck. the fit by attempting to turn the socket by hand in either direction. If you experience a loose fit where the socket turns just a little, slip the socket down until it seats against the base of the sensor firmly and try turning again. I would expect the socket once it is seated all the down onto the nut you will feel no movement when attempting to turn by hand.

Cant find keyhole or switch to turn my airbags off in my mazda 6

The airbag system in this car is second generation smart airbags, there is no switch, if the weight in the passenger seat is not at least 50 pounds (there is a sensor in the seat cushion) the airbag is switched off to the paassenger seat, but small children should always be in a approved child seat in the back seat anyway.

You womer manual should tell you if you have this. Also, call your delaer service department, they answer these questions all the time. god luck/

Missing sensor, don't know what it is called

sorry, i had someone that used my name on here he thinks he knows it all.... Sounds to me like you are talking about the crank sensor which is on the pass side under the first sparkplug it has 2 13 mm bolts that hold it in, if it is not there then your truck more then likely will not start, or if is does you will have oil all over the engine.there are numerous sensors in the engine so if this does not help, goto pepboys or autozone or any auto part store for that matter and pick yourself up the haynes manual for the truck.

Can i switch of the passenger airbag in my 2003 ford focus?

The passenger airbag is what is called a smart generation airbag, there is a sensor in the passenger seat that tells the airbag control module to turn off the bag if the weight is less than 50 pounds in the paswsenger seat, i.e. a child, I work for Ford and we will not turn off or tamper with or disconnect the airbag, why? if you get in a wreck and are hurt because we disconnected or otherwise defeated the airbag we would be liable for damages and a lawsuit.

Airbags

If your Focus is a new model the passenger side airbag has a sensor that in effect weighs what is in the passenger seat, and will turn itself off if the weight is below a min, you will see an indicator lite up on the dash indicating this. If your Focus does not have this smart system then I recomment that you not tamper in any way with the passive restraint air bag system, to do so could cause grave personnel injury. Consault your local Ford dealer over the phone they will help.
