Question about 2005 GMC Yukon

HVAC blows hot air on passenger side of 2005 GMC yukon XL

This problem started out being intermittent and now the passenger side blows hot air at all times. I have dual controls but it does not seem like the controls affect the temp at all. I think when the air conditioner is on that the air is cool but dont remember. Is this a temp control door that is staying open and is this a DIY fix?

There is a door called the blend door, it controls air tmerature, it may be defective or the electric motor that moves it..

SOURCE: Air conditioner blows hot air after 30 seconds on

I have had this problem. I am not a mechanic...so to correct the issue temporarily, I simply turn off the car and restart. This has worked everytime for me. In extreme cases, I think you can also remove the AC fuse and start the car, which will also reset the computer. I also think that by taking the climate control off the "AUTO" setting has worked in the past.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Yukon XL passenger side a/c vent blows

diverter is out of position for that specif duct. It may just be stuck. If vacuum controlled, make sure hose is in place and there is vacuum present Good luck _Ned_

I have a 2005 GMC Yukon XL and my heater only blows out cool air it will not blow hot air. Also the heated seat on the driver side does not work.

Your heater problem is more than likely a bad temp door motor. The seat heater problem is probably one of your elements.Either back or bottom. If your switch light is coming on then the element is bad.

2005 Yukon Denalli - Blow cold air out the drivers side

the passenger side electronic controller is sensing the passenger side temperature is cooler than it really is, which causes the controller to increase the hot water flow to warm up the passenger area...any time you replace a battery or loose your charge, the HVAC module will need to be reset...Try this...
Remove your hvac fuse for 10 sec - reinstall fuse. Start engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" Recalibration of module will accure when power is lost (fuse pulled, battery changed or died) If hvac reset did not work you have a trouble code - reset BCM There are two ways to reset your body control module Go to the GENERAL Remove BOTH battery cables (for the sake of CAUTION remove air bag fuse and wait 5 MINUTES) Hold both cables together for 1 minute - drains KAM (keep alive memory). Put everything back together Start the engine "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING FOR 3 MINUTES" If you have no broken parts - system not default (normal operation)

If that works it just saved you 600 dollars...dealer costs to repair.

Good Luck...please rate me a fixya.

Changed batteries and climate control not working properly

The actuator has gone bad. They can be programed, and reset, but usaly they are bad, and that will only patch the problem for a while.

Here is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for your vehicle for loss of temp control.
File In Section: 01 - HVAC
Bulletin No.: 01-01-39-007
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Loss Of HVAC System Mode and/or Temperature Control

(Reroute Wiring Harness)
Models
1999-2002 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Pickup Models (Silverado and Sierra) 1999-2002 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Utility Models (Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Denali) 2001 GMC Sierra C3
2002 GMC Sierra Denali
2002 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT
Some customers may comment that they cannot control the HVAC system modes and/or the temperature. These concerns may be intermittent.
Cause
There may be poor terminal contact and/or bent terminals in connectors C206 (RPO C68 automatic HVAC controls) or C296 (RPO C60 manual HVAC controls). Excessive tension on the wires due to the wiring harness being miss routed in the instrument panel carrier may cause these conditions.

If the warranty campaign is over i am sure they can or may have in the system on how to correct the problem.
Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted if you need help on to the repair procedure.
