A little acrobatic exercise for you............
1/ Put the Key in the # 2 position .
2/ Hit the "MI" button on the dash twice .
3/ Put the Key in the # 0 position (key out position) within 10 seconds of hitting the MI Button .
4/ Press the MI Button and turn the key into the # 2 position at the same time. There will be a confirmation noise .
5/ Release, Smile...and be on your way, your all done. !
SOURCE: remove a wing mirror cover to fit indicator lens
If you have electric folding mirrors fold them in, if not fold the mirror back against the spring (not easy as it is quite strong). Looking from the front, to the mirror cover side of the spindle on which the mirror pivots if you pull it forward, you will see the end of the main mirror body which has a groove it it. At the end of the groove there is a springclip which can prised up using a flat bladed screwdriver. It is easiest to place the blade under the clip and twist the clip to release it. Once fully released the cover can then be withdrawn. Refitting is the reverse of the above but if the cover does not automatically clip in place you may have to force it back with the screwdriver.

Try this, it is the procedure
for resetting the ASSIST computer on many Mercs
1...Turn Key to position No:2 in the ignition /
steering lock and immediately press AND Hold the button "000.0" (the
trip reset button) TWICE within the space of 1 (one) second.
2…Turn the key to position No: 0
in the ignition / steering lock. Then release the button.
3...Press AND Hold the button
"000.0" (the trip reset button) and turn Key to position No:2 in the
ignition / steering lock. Keep button pressed
After about 10 seconds the service
indicator will reset and an acoustic signal may briefly sound
That should do it....Good Luck…...Let
me know if it works?

You will need a code reader/scanner called OBD2. They are under $50. A nice one can cost $100-$3,000. Just buy one that does the job...no need for the more expensive ones. You can borrow one from some auto parts stores, like the AutoZone.
You can also pay a shop this much to do it for you, every time.
Just select erase codes, and you're done.
