SOURCE: Headlamp assembly on Pontiac G6

well there isn't much on gripping the retainers, what they are, are plastic ball and socket clips. I would lay some tape down underneth the lamp onto the bumper to protect the bumper and then the hard part...while making sure the headlamp is above the bumper, pull with some force on the back half of the light to where it meets with the fender, after a little pulling it should (no promises) should come out, it will seem like it will break but it shouldn't. (I use to work at a body shop and did many of those headlights including my own '06 G6.) Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Bumper cover removal

It is a little more complicated than that. There are two nuts below the headlight assemblies in the engine compartment. You will need to remove the battery and overflow bottle to get at the one on the passenger side. Remove the turn signals in the bumper, then there are 2 or 3 bolts holding a mounting bracket behind the each of the turn signals. There are a number of bolts with washer heads and reatiners on the underside of the bumper as the previous responder indicated.

You have to remove the front bumper and grill etc

There are 5 bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. 2 at the top and 3 underneath.

Remove the plastic cross piece by prising out the clips and then the grille clips too then unbolt the bolts eithr side under the wheel arch. The bumper is still fastened using cips. Pull the bumper forward to unclip.

How to change headlight lamp in 2005 Pontiac g6

To change the bulbs you need to first remove the 5 plastic pop screws on the front bumper. They're spread out at the top of the bumper right under the hood. Once you get those out, you have to remove the two hex bolts on each headlight. Then it gets tricky. You need to pull the light towards the front of the car until it pops out of the ball-bearing type mount on the fender. Once that pops out, you have to pull the front bumper forward while maneuvering the headlight out towards the front.

As per the manual it says as follows:---

Open the hood.

Hold the headlamp to prevent damage to the headlamp or to the fascia. Remove the bolts from the headlamp assembly. Remove the push-in-retainers across the front fascia. Remove the headlamp assembly. Lift the headlamp upward to release the locating tab from the front edge of the fender.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly.

Remove the headlamp bulb access cover by rotating the headlamp bulb access cover counterclockwise, if necessary.

Remove the headlamp bulb from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise, if necessary.

Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector, if necessary.

Remove the park/turn bulb access cover by rotating the cover counterclockwise, if necessary.

Remove the park/turn bulb from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise, if necessary.

Gently pull the park/turn bulb from the socket, if necessary. Install the park/turn bulb into the bulb socket.

Install the park/turn bulb socket into the headlamp housing by rotating the socket clockwise.

Install the park/turn bulb access cover by rotating the cover clockwise.

Connect the headlamp bulb to the headlamp electrical connector.

Install the headlamp bulb into the headlamp housing. Rotate the socket clockwise until locked.

Install the headlamp bulb access cover by rotating the cover clockwise.

Position the headlamp assembly to the vehicle. Lift the headlamp upward to release the locating tab to the front edge of the fender.

Install the bolts to the headlamp assembly. Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

Install the push-in-retainers across the front fascia.

Close the hood.

----------This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

How do I remove the headlamp unit on a Jaguar S type 2001 I can only see two nuts one top centre and one to the left and three or four inches lower slightly to the right of the main beam looking from the...

Front bumper requires removal to gain acsess to the lower 10mm bolts. Bumper comes off by removing the 2 10mm bolts on the top of the bumper then unscrew the 2 T30 screws in the front wheel arch liner (bumper side) and then you will be able to see a 10mm bolt reversed into a bracket at the top of the bumper from a inside veiw, remove and repeat for the other side. Then its 3 10mm bolts that secure the front under tray (if yours has one). Then there will be another 10mm bolt to the wing side of the headlamp from a above veiw. Bumper should then just pull off and watch for the connector for the fog lamp harness.

Just the 2 lower headlamp bolts andit should pull from its housing

How to replace the fog lights

Actually, your manual (if you have the Touring Model) says the following:

Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolt from the underbody through the hole in the splash shield.

Remove the fog light assembly from the bumper by pulling its inner edge first, then the whole assembly out of the bumper.

Remove the electrical connector from the bulb by pushing on the tab and pulling the connector down.

Remove the bulb from the fog light assembly by turning it one quarter turn counterclockwise.

Push the electrical connector onto the new bulb.

Turn on the fog lights to test the new bulb.

Reinstall the fog light assembly into the bumper. Tighten the mounting bolt.

Insert the new bulb into the assembly and turn it one-quarter turn clockwise to lock it in place.

I would take another look for the hole in the splash shield. You will need a socket wrench to remove the bolt. It is always possible that there may be a plastic cover disk of something of that sort covering the hole, or you might have to remove the splash shield itself (I doubt that), but the bolt is there. Take your time, you'll find it.

    Hope this helps you.

How do I replace headlight bulbs?

    2003 Nissan Altima

Step 1: pop hood, remove grille. use a flathead screwdriver to release the black tabs holding it in.

Step 2: at the very bottom of the bumper, there are two screws on each side that hold the fender liner to the bumper, remove those

Step 3: peel back the fender liner to get to two bolts that are directly under the headlight which bolt the bumper to the car. remove those bolts, but be careful when removing the last one as your bumper may fall off and get damaged. (do this for each side)

Step 4: if you have fog lights, disconnect them before pulling the bumper off

Step 5: there are four bolts holding the headlamp assembly in, two on top, one on the front under the assembly and one on the side. (do this for each side)

Step 6: disconnect the three connectors to the headlamp assembly once you begin to pull the assembly out. they are push tab connectors, you may need to use a screw or flathead screwdriver to release them. just be careful not to damage them

Step 7: you have your headlight assembly out, now you should see a greyish dust cover with wires coming out of the back. that is where your driving lights are located. you will have to turn it to open it. depending on if you have halogen or HID bulbs (I have HID, so mine are strapped in with a metal clamp)

Step 8: replace your bulb and reverse the process to install the headlamp

Hope this helps. And don't let taking the front bumper cover off discourage you, it's actually very easy to do. The first time i took mine off, it took me all of ten minutes. it gets faster after that.
