Find the ac compressor, and look at the ac lines coming from the compressor, the large ac line,is the low pressure service port, just follow it toward the firewall, and you will come to it.If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

standing in front of the car, look towards the left side (passenger side) of the engine bay. You will find something that looks like an air pressure valve (this is much like you'd find on your car tire). One cap is marked with H (this is the high valve) follow this towards the firewall and you will see another one marked L. this is where you'll need to connect your 134a to. DO NOT over fill!!! watch the gauge and follow instructions carefully. Good luck!!

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Let us try to help.
Yes, you read correctly; if the refrigerant charge is low,or the refrigerant has leaked out, the AC compressor will not activate. Pressure switches built into the system inturupt the power to the AC clutch if there is insufficient system pressure.
I would suggest taking the vehicle to a qualified garage, and have the service tech there hook his set of 'AC Gauges" to the car. After he does that, he can tell you if you need a partial charge, of if you system is empty. I would def recommend the car be checked with the AC gauges; as adding refrigerant to the system without knowing how much is currently in it can damage the compressor.
Thanks for choosing FixYa for advice!

Look at the hoses on the back of the a/c compr.. there will be a big and a thin hose, the big hose is the lower pressure hose, that's the one you want to recharge your a/c system, stay away from the thin that one is high pressure, follow the big hose, on it you will find the port to recharge the a/c system.

The low pressure point should be near the firewall of the engine on the passenger side.
