2000 chevy blazer braking problem

When I start to brake my car skips and doesn;'t want to stop. I took it into a shop and they said I needed a new hub, that it was burnt out.

My friend said that the 2000 blazer doesn't have hubs?

what do you think it could be?

    Happy Holidays

Sounds like your abs is kicking in. they are referring to the wheel hub/bearing assembly. not locking hubs for 4wheel drive. if you have a sensor dropping out the abs unit thinks a wheel is locking up and activates. this is why you feel the hopping and jumping.it could be the hub or just the sensor

Will a 1996 chevy blazer LS 4wd differential fit into a 2000 chevy blazer LS rwd rear end ?

Measure the lenth of both rear ends. see iss all hardware will bolt up without fabrication. if its the same size it will work. But im afraid being a 4 wheel drive it will be geared lower then a regular pick up/ Drive shaft may work but if not it would have to be shortened or lenghthebed. alot of work. Brakes you could leave the non drum breaks on better stopping power. I honestly believe you would be better off just going to a scrap yard and find one very easy to remove and replave few hour job.

I took the old rear brake pads off my 2000 chevy blazer and the new ones won't go on. They don't allow enough space to go back on?

YOU HAVE TO COMPRESS THE CALIPER PISTON BACK INTO THE CALIPER USING A C-CLAMP OR SIMILAR TOOL. USE AN OLD PAD TO DO THIS.

S 10 1997 Chevy Blazer brake locking up

Common cause is the drums and brake shoes need to be replaced. When there no longer within the the specification for the brakes to work properly, the self adjusters will over adjust the brake shoes and you'll have the feeling of the rear drum brakes lock up as the shoes will bind up along the drums. Replace both Shoes and Drums and this can be done on your own will common tools and a simple brake spring tool that you can pick up at Auto Zone or Parts Source and both can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the rear brake system. Good luck and be safe.

2000 chevy Blazer Emergency brake stuck on. Was

Sounds like a likely possibility, the reverse method definetly did the trick in loosening the brake, but it may still be slightly applied, put it in a warm place when you can, or have a shop look at it indoors, it may need to be re-adjusted, or even just warmed up until the cable frees up again

Chevy won't start and brake is locked up too.

Probably broke the neutral safety switch. Try putting the gearshift in neutral. If the truck cranks then, it is definately the switch. Try this and let me know if it helps :)

Brakes to the floor(almost) 99 blazer

bleed the brake again. if the pedal goes to the floor with little resistance, then the master cylinder is your problem.
the shim is to depress the noise when you applied the brake. you can skip that, if the brake works without it.
