I have a 2002 Yukon XL. The transmission started slipping in all gears. Restarting the Yukon temporarily resolves the problem.

All you gotta do is carfully pry the dash panel off (prying from the far left end is easiest) completely remove panel. then there are 2 clips that hold the factory sterio in place. push on the both clips while pulling the radio out. simply disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio. using an adapter avaliable at your local radio shop (scosche p/n gm02, mdarb and gm1483b) wiring harness, dash install kit, and antenna adapter. then simply match the colors on the new radio's harness to the adapter harness, crimping each connection with a "but plug". then simply follow the instructions included with the dash install kit to assemble the kit.connect the antenna adapter to radio, plug in all cables. test to see if everything works properly before the final install. install sterio into dash install kit, re installing kit where origional radio was. then simply put the panel back in its place by firmly pushing on it untill it snaps into place. then enjoy your new radio!

Just changed radio on my 01 Yukon XL and now the speedometer doesn't work

Double check your wiring on the radio. The factory radio has a wire that comes from the vehicle speed sensor. When you speed up, the radio gets louder. When you slow down the radio gets quieter. That wire may go into the radio and then to the speedo depending on how the vehicle is wired. You may have to connect that wire to another (check wiring diagram). Another thought is that you accidentally hooked that wire up to something wrong and it blew a fuse. Good luck

Do you have a pdf showing howt to remove the radio on a 2002 yukon xl

this very simply have done it many times. the trim that goes around the whole drivers cluster, rado, and HVAC controls pulls off straight towards the rear of the vehicle, use a upohlestry tool or carfully with a screwdriver, it comes off, you may have to move the tilt steering down and shift the gear slector to low range when you remove it (makes it easier) PARKING BRAKE ON WHILE DOING THIS. This exposes the radio and there should be four 7mm hex head screws, remove those, then pull the radio straight out, undo the connectors and radio antenna.

CD Player wont take a CD

A lot of the electronics need resetting. Disconnect the radio(easier to just do it at the battery and restore power after a few minutes and let the computer reset) see if it resets the audio system. Otherwise you're looking at a remove/send in for repair and or replace the head unit. Its a nice radio but at the cost I just replaced mine with aftermarket. Depending on system you have(Bose-amplified or non-Bose ) you will need a Metra GMOAS-04 or 01 to retain warning chimes. I can get them cheap...let me know which way you want to go? Good luck!
