First be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. Take the negative battery terminal off the battery for one minute. Then replace the Battery terminal carefully, always use caution when taking off the positive battery terminal, and make sure the metal wrench you are using does not touch a metal part on the car. Always take off the negative battery terminal for one minute, then replace the negative battery terminal. This should clear your fault code and automatically reset your check engine light. If your check engine light come's back on. Your vehicle has another fault code that need's servicing on your vehicle. Sincerely Crystopper.

After replacing the gas cap .. unscrew the terminal from the battery for a minute. The easiest one is the one away from air intake from the air filter box. Just set it aside gently. Of course you need to reset your clock and your radio stations after screwing the wire back on.

How do you reset the computer in 2007 G6 Pontiac?

If you just simply want to say make a check engine light go off you can just disconnect the battery for ten minutes and then reconnect it. But if you mean re flash then that has to be done by a dealer most likely.

How to reset pontiac g6 computer

The battery cable trick is the oldest shitiest trick in the book it solves nothing but delaying a problem and erasing the ck engine light.... I've been up and down the Pontiac G6 from no start no crank issues to climate control to pc problems these cars have way to many issues that should have been recalled of course the reason these things weren't recalled is bc GM would owe some of you guys a new car. I can help with about any G6 problem but some things aren't worth fixing

My 2006 Pontiac G6 won't start by remote. However, it will manually but a check engine light came on. What could be wrong with my car? Is it an expensive repair?

If you have a check engine light, the system is designed to prevent remote start or shut it down shortly after. Get the code checked and proceed from there.

Cant find the power steering for a 2006 pontiac g6 (v6 engine)?

In 2006 Pontiac put ELECTRIC power steering in the G6's.

Your looking under the hood in the right location its just under that. its all electrical. Must have been not such a good idea because they switched back to normal power steering in 2007.

(I have an 06 G6 V6)

Hello I need help locating the fuse/relay for my power windows on my 2006 Pontiac G6. My windows are stuck in the down position.

The 2007 Pontiac G6 engine compartment fuse block is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery. The wiring circuits in Pontiac G6 are protected from short circuits by a combination of fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. This greatly reduces the chance of damage caused by electrical problems. Below diagram and table shows 2007 Pontiac G6 Engine Compartment Fuse Panel, Relay and the Circuit Protected.

2005 Pontiac G6. The check engine light came on, reset it and now I do not have heat in my car.

Well lets see - resetting the Check Engine light will not, in itself, have anything to do with now not having any heat from your heater.

Why the Check Engine light was on in the first place may have a lot to do with it.

If your engine is low on engine coolant (antifreeze) your heater will not work. Low coolant levels and/or engine overheating will also set fault codes in your computer and turn the Check Engine light on.

NOTE:
It is NEVER good to reset a Check Engine light without properly diagnosing and repairing the reason it was on. At best, it could wreck your catalytic converters, making it extremely expensive to get through an emissions inspection. At worst, it could cost you an engine.

I cannot get the Change Oil Soon message to reset on a Pontiac G6

Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx 2004-06; 2006 HHR, Cobalt, Pontiac G6, Solstice
Turn ignition to run engine off. Display OIL LIFE RESET in the Driver Information Center (DIC). Press and hold the ENTER button for at least one second. An ACKNOWLEDGED’ display message will appear for three second or until the next button is pressed. This will tell you the system has been reset. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
