2005 Pontiac Grand Prix tire pressure warning light

Hi - This past weekend I stopped to check my tires before a roadtrip, as I always do, and three were low. I inflated all to 40psi. Right afterwards the "check tire pressure" warning light came on and now it comes on each time I crank my car. I checked the tires again last night and they were fine. Could this be a faulty sensor?

My 2005 GTP did the same thing, but after airing up the tires to the proper pressure, all I had to do was hold the reset button on the driver information screen when screen is on tire pressure monitor function until it resets.

My HUD went out with no explanation.

by fine you mean 32 PSI, need to be 36 PSI for most of those horrible wheel sensors. The hud is probably shot and since Pontiac is gone, good luck getting parts.

The exclamation point 2005 always on

The exclamation point that you see is an indicator light to inform you that you have a low tire, if it flashes for a minute or so when you start the car that means the sensor is bad but if it is always just on that means you need to stop at the nearest gas station and put some air in those tires.

Low tire pressure warning

Look under the steering wheel~way up under the dash there is on some Pontiacs a reset button. It is usually yellow. If this does not work you can try disconnecting the battery to clear the ECM.

Check tire pressure warning

check tire pressures with a gauge and set to the specs either in door jam or in glove box. your car must be equipt with tire preasure monitoring system so the sensors are inside the wheel normally part of the valvestem.

Indicator lights

I think that there is a button located under the dash at the right side of the steering column. To reset the low tyre pressure warning you need to press the button immediately after inflating all tyres to right pressure.

Tire pressure sensor

There is either a yellow button under the dash to the right of the steering column or possibly one in the fuse box. Check your manual and it will tell you for sure. If you still can't find this button, another option is to disconnect the battery and that should do it.
