When I am going slow/normal speed and i shift from 1st to 2nd the gear doesnt grind, But if I am pulling out into heavy traffic..then it grind a little when going from 1st to 2nd. The other gears work fine...no grinding. I say either transmission fluid needs changing... or 2nd gear synchronizer needs replacing. That said, are either of these jobs DIY or will i need to take it to someone? If either are DIY can you direct me somewhere, where I can see instrutions on how to replace the two prob or can you explain how to do either one of these? Thanks so much!
The synchros are not DIY, when they start to go it will grind when the RPMs are higher like getting on a highway, you can try double clutching and see if that helps.
When you say double clutching.. what do you mean exactly?
you push in clutch go to neutral push in then go to next gear
does also make sense it will be hard to shift and could grind if it is low on clutch fluid at the firewall.

Check the fluid! Had similar problem, $0.87 in fluid fixed it.
