Power seat switch

Drivers side power seat switch. back and forth doesn't work. what could it be? i checked most of the fuses. the up and down works, and the back of the seat works. it just the back and forth that doesn't. I understand there might be a reset on the seat, if so where is it located? and if you think it is the fuse, where is that located and what is the amps. thanks for you help in advance.

    same problem

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

I have the same problem, but it's not the switch or the motor. Tapping often releases it. The problem is a set of sticking relays on a printed circut board located in a white plastic box under the seat. The seat must be removed to access it. The relays are sealed so I can't get into them to clean them. Tapping on the drive motor often results in freeing the relay contacts. Infinity has no part number for this circut board. I'm going to try to get it rebuilt, replacement relays are available from electronics supply houses.

It is most definitely the seat slide motor. Most infiniti drivers seats have three different motors. I30, I35's and QX4's all had problems with the seat slide motors. You can tap on the slide motor which is under the front of the seat and it will probably work for a little while, but it WILL stop working completely. There was actually a Technical Service Bulletin regarding this issue because there were so many vehicles that had this problem. I hate to see that guy waste money trying to get a circuit board rebuilt that absolutely will not solve the problem.

The service bulletin number is TSB00-065 and it was issued in December 2000. The part number I believe is 87562-C9926.

Where is the motor for the forward/backward? It is very tight under the seat and tough to determine where everything is located.

Motor gets stuck at back end of track. Tap the motor with a small hammer while pushing the seat button.

Holy cow, my two front seats more or less at the same time stopped moving forward and backward while still being able to tilt and all that. sometimes just pushing forward and thrusting with the body would get it going on the driver side but proving to be harder to do each time it stops. i know it will completely stop at some point but today i the passenger side did the same thing and i read hear to tap lightly with a hammer and guess what, it worked. they should have had a recall.....

I had the same problem. I just nudged the seat with a little force while pressing the forward button and it started working. The seat was all the way back when it got stuck.

Front drivers seat will not slide back and forth.

No, check for a blockage in the seat track. You have one power source for all seat functions. If it works one way but not the others it is either a bad switch, or bad motor, or a blockage.

Gmc jimmy heated seat not working on one side only.

Hello-
If your fuses are good, perhaps your heated seat switch is faulty. You can test the switch for connectivity using a meter to see if power is going through the switch when in the ON position. If the meter shows no power while in the ON position, replace the switch. If power is reaching the seat, then likely the heating element itself within the seat is the culprit.

Power seat switch

Possibly a faulty switch, but first remove switch and check that power is reaching it, check the wiring plug to the seat for a bad contact, try a wiggle test on the wiring while operating the switch (Shake the wiring). Because the seat is moving back and forward sometimes the wiring can break, or stress the plug.

Yukon XL driver side seat not working

There is a seat module under the seat that reads the inputs from the switches and then sends power to the motors, disconnect and reconnect and it may reset. If not you will have to check inputs at module. There is more than one connector on it, you will have to disconnect the power supply.

The passenger side brake light, and passenger side (front and back) window control doesn't work is it a fuse?

Well, the short answer is no.
The lights and windows are are different fuses.
There's a slight chance you have a problem with a ground wire on that side, but I doubt the two problems are related.
I would check the light for power and ground, and look at the window switches for power and ground. The windows are powered thru the driver switch on most cars.

Maybe you problem is with the switch, or check if power seat circuit has the regular fuse or rather one of those thermal ones.
Passenger compartment fuse panel
The fuse panel is located on the left hand side of the instrument panel facing the drivers side door.

You might want to try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it. This procedure fixed my seat that was not working. It works fine now. I know it sounds too good to be true but it usually works
