Firs the car would start at home, but on my way to work if I stopped for gas or made other short stops, The car would make a clicking noise when I started it to continue on, this went on for a week or so. But the first cool morning temperature in the fourties the car would not start. I hit the key and it would make a clicking noise and after I turned off the key it continued to click until I removed the hot wire for the fuse box under the hood. One mechanic has check the battery and replaced the positive connector. But the problem persisted, so I had a second mechanic replace the starter, and although the car turns over now in the cool mornings it does not want to start and stay running, but in the warmer afternoons it runs just fine??
SOURCE: engine overheated, now car won't start without giving it gas
Some cars cut off as a fail safe to overheating especially on newer cars. The computer controls the fans and if they are not working the computer is probably telling the car to shut off. Have you replaced the motors already, if not, this is what's happening. Once you replace the motors it should run fine. I wouldn't suggest driving it too much with this problem as it may affect the computer by giving it false info.

Yes they do but I would rather think you have a bad battery cabe connection to the system, sometimes the battery cable corrudes and you can't see it try replacing the cable ends and the connector ends espically if they are by the battery.

ASD relay faulty? Try swapping it with same number from other relays & see if clicking stops. I believe there is others same # in there, but might not be. Get back to me if not.

You may want to try pulling connections off BCM (body control module) and cleaning them with contact spray cleaner or similar & re-installing. Sometimes you'll get lucky & this will cure it, without replacing BCM.

Update to problem with the warmer days the car ran over the weekend. Monday Morning 10/01/2012 The started with hesitation trying to choke itself out. Tuesday 10/02/2012 The weather was about 54degrease but it was misty all day. The would crank but not fire and start. A clicking in the auto shut down relay was persistant.
After removing the auto shut down relay from the power distrubution center under the hood the clicking persisted coming from behind and below the throat on the air intake. The clicking persisted until the hot wire was disconected from the power distribution center.
I had the car towed to a mechanic this moring, and after it arrived the mechanic got the car started, but wants to look at the spark plugs thinks they might be the problem. (He does not have a clue) Hopefully it will get cold enough tonight that when he tries to start it in the moring it will act up for him. But apparently the car is not generating any error code, and without an error code this mechanic is lost?
I The first mechanic I took the car to put a postive battery cable and connector on the car and said it was fixed, but I knew it was not fixed and it was not fixed. I had a second mechanic put a new starter on the car, because I thought it was the solenoid on the starter but it was not that either. It is not the battery or the starter but as I previously indicate it apperently is not generating an error code either, But I am pretty sure the problem is in the electrical system some were. And it appears to be wearher sensitive. Runs fine on warm dry days, but not on cool wet days.
To the last question it will crank, but will not fire and when it does start it acts like it is being coked and dies.
