This would tell me there is a short in the wiring harness. If it was a relay it would affect only the electronics on that relay.
Ok, Not to sound like an *****, but it will... I'm not exactly sure where the wiring harness is located, and is there a logical way to start trouble shooting to isolate the issue?
Well if you think 1 relay controls everything then why ask. There are about 6 relays in a car
about 6 relays in the car. The wiring harness threads from the ignition, radio, headlights ect..
it is under the dash then leads to your fuse panel inside the car and engine compartment where the relays and other fuses are located.
It is my belief the problem lies either in your radio as a short or the section between the radio to main junction under the dash
Isoloation (remove the fuse for the radio)
Sounds good, I will try that tomorrow morning. I took apart the throttle body and intake alst weekend to clean carbon deposits in-order to pass CA smog. It is possible that I knocked something around. I will start with radio fuse and also look for anything else that seems loose under there. I will give an update in the morning...Thank you for the info!

It should be your brake light switch. There is a little plate welded to the arm of the pedal that has a hole with a rubber stopper. The rubber stopper is most likely missing, or damaged. You should be able to take a flashlight and see the plate and the switch. If the hole is plugged up, you will need the brake light switch, if not, replace the plug.

check all your fuses first then take a look at the brake switch and there is a criuse cancel switch also, i think there may be a problem with the switch, even if the cancel switch was bad i think the power would still stay on but cruise would just stop and power would stay on. check fuses and switches anyway to be sure then take a look at the power switch.

First, let me advise you that a blown fuse is never the cause of an electrical problem. They are allways the result of the problem. A blown fuse is allways the result of an electrical overload that could potentially burn your vehicle to the ground. Replacing a fuse without finding out and correcting WHY the fuse was blown is a total waste of time and effort and will only result in another fuse having to give up its life to keep your car from toasting itself.
The problem you are describing sounds a lot like a mutifunction switch shorting out. It needs to be checked for this as well as the connector to the multifunction switch because the connectors usually get burned. This could also be a simple flasher module problem.

tested again...open door and dome light was on, stepped on brake and brake lights came on (all while car off) turn on ignition, and everything went off. Closed door /open again and dome light was back on, but stepped on brakes everything shut off. Went to turn headlights on and heard a faint clicking (keys were not in the ignition) Could a relay be bad, if so any ideas what one?
