I made the mistake of trying to install a backup alarm on my 2000 E320. The instructions said to simply hook the one wire to the ground on backup light, and the other wire on the hot part of the bulb. Well all was working, and I went to close the trunk, and didnt realize I had not left enough slack in the wire since they supplied very little. All the sudden the wires pulled off,. and now I have no lights. I have replaced fuse #4 and #3 which allowed everything else to start working again, but the lights still wont go on. I have changed the bulbs several times, as well as the fuse. I know the fuse is good as it controls the blinkers which are working. I can not find anywhere besides all the way at the left side of the dash that references "backup Lights" and fuse #4. It says nothing about them in the engine fuse box or under the seat. Please help.

You have a reverse indicator switch on you transmission. You will need to make sure that it didn’t come unplugged or that the wire didn’t break. This is a single wire that should be close to the rear of the transmission.

> Any suggestions or reference to free wiring diagram downloads??
It doesn't seem likely since most of that kind of material is copyrighted works. I think they would take offense to putting it on the web.
You might get some help (or even emailed diagrams) from a fellow owner.

SOURCE: Dashboard and tail lights out on 97" Nissan Sentra
I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!

There could be a fusible link under the hood off the starter relay that is burnt out.

that appears to be a camshaft position sensor performance code. you can start by checking to see if the sensor is working properly, re-check and make sure that the harness is ok by checking the resistance through the harness if all looks well there make sure the computer has the latest software on it by having it scanned at your local dealer. also you can check the reluctor wheel on the camshaft for damage or debris in the way of the sensor.
hope this helps!
