It has a 3 liter engine. V-6
It will definitely affect the selling price, a valve job on a 3 liter engine is not cheap.
Well if valves wont burned could probably get $2500 to $3000 for van but if cylinder heads has to be removed, which takes 8 hours labor time to remove both heads plus recondition cylinder heads you over $1000 labor recondition both heads that could put you at $500 or more depends what done to both heads.heads valve seats has to be redone new valve guides, new valves, new valves spring, new rocker arms.with burned valves you could get $500 to $700 for van,

the smell you have, does it smell like antifreeze? if so, you need to replace heater core
SOURCE: location of oxygen sensors on 2002 dodge grand
The o2 sensors are located on the exhaust system. The upstream in on the rear exhaust manifold and the down stream is in front of the catalytic converter.Usually when they are bad they will make the check engine like go on.Make sure the air filter is clean, tires at correct inflation, alignment is to specs. If the vehicles pulls to one side or the other or steering wheel is not straight when driving down a straight stretch of road. Also tires are wearing normal.Use cruise control where ever on highway. If you let your vehicle warm up in winter. This also uses gas.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have had a couple of quotes for around $ 3,000, does that sound about right? In an ad for junk cars they offered $250 for my van, is that abotu all I would be able to get for in its curent shape?
$ 3,ooo to get the valves repaired.
the 3.0 mitsubishi engines are tough when it comes to labor so they are very expensive to fix, $250 sounds about right for a 1998 vehicle scrap price.
