Sounds like you have a problem with either the idle air control valve,OR the mass air flow meter.Does it have a check engine light on? Have you checked to see if the air filter is clean and free of obstructions? Are all the vaccum lines connected,as well as the hoses from the air filter to the throttle body?

engine light is NOT on; no diagnostic codes are in the computer readout; all hoses and lines appear connected; air filter is clean w/ no obstructions; could the throttle position sensor be bad?
Its a possibility, but most likely it would have a code if it was TPS.Most likely iys the idle
IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. THEY USUALLY WONT CAUSE THE LIGHT TO COME ON.
