SOURCE: mazda 6 reverse lights

ITS POSSIBLE THAT YOUR REVERSE LIGHT SWITCH IS FAULTY BEST WAY TO FIND OUT IS TO DISCONNECT REVERSE SWITCH AT G/BOX & BRIDGE OUT CONNECTIONS WITH IGN ON & IN REVERSE LIGHTS SHOULD GO ON IF THEY DO THEN ITS YOUR SWITCH.

SOURCE: reverse lights don't work on

Did you check the fuse yet? The fuse you are looking for is in the passenger compartment fuse panel, in the number 6 position and should be a 10 amp fuse (see picture below) I hope this helps and good luck.

This is simply letting you know that the vehicles computer system has detected an issue with a sensor relating to the engine. If you go to your local auto parts store, they will usually scan the system for free. If you can do that and let me know what the codes are I will be very happy to point you in the right direcdtion for repair.

2006 Mazda Tribute 2nd 3.0, 6 cyl. Tail lights do not work with new bulbs. Front lights all work and all brake lights work just not the tail lights.

Did it have reversing lights originally? All of the lights are monitored by the BCM. Things could get funky if they were there and are now missing.

Check the bulbs with a multimeter and also check that the bulb contacts aren't corroded.

The easiest fix is to find a good local auto-electrician.

The reverse light no warking

Check fuses. Didn't fully understand the Question so if your saying that the brake light comes on but the reverse light does not. If it is in the same spot then it would be a 2 part bulb and one filament has burned out so the bulb still needs replaced. If it not the bulb then check fuses. One of those will most likely be your problem. good luck.

I just purchased a 1996 cavalier. It didn't have an owners manual and i need to know what the abrieviations on the fuse box stand for. I'm trying to find the fuse for the brake lights and rear turn...

Hi, the likely problem is the turn signal switch. The signals and brake lights use different fuses. You can get an owners manual here:
http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/chevrolet/1996-Chevrolet-Cavalier.pdf

A new switch is about $40, and it isn't too hard to replace. Make sure you get one that has the same controls as yours does. To replace the switch, remove the covers from the steering column, disconnect the switch and unscrew it from the column.

Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

I have replaced reverse light bulb, however new bulb will not work. I have checked the bulb, the fuses and the wiring, any ideas why can't get it work. Also indicator on dash still present.

The reverse light switch is a mechanical device used to control operation of the vehicle reverse lights. The switch is designed to complete the circuit when reverse gear is selected allowing reverse light operation (manual transmission only).
