Car broke down 2 years ago with cracked head gasket and blown pistons. Have replaced head, head gasket, manifold gasket, o-rings, valve cover gasket, starter and coil pack. Flushed coolant, changed oil, bought new battery and fuel pump sensor. Car will start fine, runs 5 minutes or so then dies with no warning. Cant start the car again for at least two hours sometimes longer.

You need to change your ECTS and it's connector if it has gunk and corrosion in it. Change the ECTS to the brass tipped one and get rid of the plastic tipped one in the car.
Also change your Thermostat which is located inside the lower radiator hose on the engine block. Sounds like your car is running itself rich because it thinks it is cold and flooding itself (hence the full throttle which is a "clear flood mode" and shuts off the injectors while starting).

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
One thing can cause this.... A faulty PCM (powertrain control module). The PCM has connectivity on all current that runs inside the car which includes the engine, transmission, accessories, etc. It's like a car's brain that when it's faulty something will surely fail. One good reason why you have misfires.
Please try to swap the car's computer to resolve the problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Fuel injectors may be dirty.. or plugged.
The car just sitting there may have caused the gas to go bad which may have
given them a head start on plugging from the get go. Get some cleaner for it.
When the dash lights blink, is it unlike anything you've seen it do before?
