2000 Hyundai Elantra is overheating...

I have replaced the Radiator, Radiator Fan Motor, the switch, relay, thermostat. While driving (in Florida, kinda hot) With AC running, its not getting cool. and i am watching the temperature gage rise. When i accelerate (prior to replacing the Radiator Fan motor) the temp gage will drop down. Now after replacing the fan motor, when the gage rises and i am able to accelerate, its lowers very slow. I have checked and there is coolant in the Radiator and in the reserve. The Ac motor is on.. and when the car senses the correct temp, the radiator fan comes on like it should.. With both fans on, it still is over heating. What am i not looking at/missing? Anyt Ideas or suggestions?

Wait till the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap, start engine and look for coolant gushing out of radiator or a lot of bubbles, its possible you have a blown head gasket.

You need to check the water pump and thermostate.
It looks like either thermostate get stuck or water pump died.
In a future it can cuse the head gaskette to die due to overheat
So have it checked
There is one good article here about the common reasons for overheating

SOURCE: The cooling fans are not

hi.
the sensor is usually located on the side of the radiator. it is usually a srew in unit with 2 wires coming from it. just remove the wires, unscrew the old one, and screw the new one in and reconnect the wires. if you are lucky, you should not loose more than a cup of coolant either.
hope this helps

SOURCE: I have a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon. When driving the car is overheating but when idling the temperature drops. Thought that sounded backwards. The radiator and the fan motor have been replaced already. Cou

Thermostats will stick sometimes. Most are made to open at certain temperatures. In some cases brand new thermostats fail. Try replacing it its pretty cheap probably no more the 10-15 dollars for the part it self its an easy fix also.

Radiator fan and ac fan not coming on car overheating

Did you check for voltage at the relay ?
The computer grounds the relay when engine temp reaches about 230 degrees or the ac high pressure is above 200.
Can you jumper the relay contacts to make the fans run ?

My car just today started overheating. My landlord says it's either a blown head gasket or a stuck thermostat? Can help? The water pump is okay...

Check and make sure coolant level is good, also check that elec. radiator fan motor is working, fan motor should come on right away with a/c on, if it don't more then likely bad radiator fan motor, if it comes on, then we know fan motor is good, turn a/c back off, fan motor should come on at about 220 deg. if it does after engine is warm, with engine off feel both upper and lower radiator hoses, careful, if thermostat is working right both will be hot, if only one is hot, replace thermostat, if fan motor did not come on with a/c off start checking coolant temp. sensor.Hope this was very helpful.

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee is overheating when i drive less than one mile and the coolant light is going off. i replaced the thermostat and checked the coolant level (which is fine) but it is still...

replace your cooling fan motor relay because if you dont eventually your radiator will explode and this will cause your engine block to crack and then if your fan isn't blowing the engine will continue to overheat and the engine will seize and then you need a new engine. A cooling fan motor relay is around $30.

Engine overheat, A/C shut off, fan hot

Chances are that your engine is ok. Bad engine overheating can seize the engine. Less extensive overheating can crack the engine especially the cylinder head and lead to power loss or mixing of water and engine oil. If water is mixing with oil, the oil looks milky. If your car is not losing power and the oil looks normal then chances are that there was no damage to your engine.

Just make sure that whatever caused the overheating in the first place is sorted out - perhaps the radiator flushing resolved the cause of the overheating.

Loosing water from my overflow bottle in my lantra 1995 - N reg and the car is overheating. Don't know where the leak is coming from - anyone any ideas?? Please

First, is the radiator fan coming on? If not, you will need to check fuse, sensor, relay and fan motor. Need to check thermostat for proper operation. If all is good, you will need to have radiator flush. Keep me informed and I can guide you so more.
