SOURCE: there is a water leak

Your A/C drain hose may be plugged. If so, the condensate from the A/C box will leak onto the floor, and eventually soak the rear carpet as well. This is a common issue. It is under the glove box, close to the passenger floor. Remove it and make sure that it is open. Alos, always run the A/C in the RECIRC mode.

Water in the trunk can be from a bad trunk seal or poorly sealed taillamp seams

SOURCE: Rear wiper Ford Explorer 1998 won't work.

Look for the fuse for the rear wiper motor is a 15 amp mini-fuse , in location # 8 of your POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX in the engine compartment. Check in the PD BOX for; - relay # 8 is the rear wiper down relay , and - relay # 10 is the rear wiper up relay .

SOURCE: wipers going when they are off

The fuse for your '98 Corvette should be in front of the passenger seat, remove the carpeting, open the fuse box and it should be the number 10 on your fuse diagram. If you don't have a diagram, google it and print out a copy. This diagram will show you all the fuse locations and numbers.Hope this helps.

SOURCE: windshield wipers stopped working on 1998 Nissan Sentra

Water can enter and displace the grease in the wiper arm linkage ball joint where the wiper linkage attaches to the wiper motor linkage.

This can result in gradual wear over a period of time inside the joint that could lead to the separation of the wiper linkage assembly from the wiper motor linkage at the ball joint. A loss of windshield wiper function can result when this separation occurs.

To prevent grease from being washed out of the joint, the dealers will modify by adding a water diversion seal that will prevent water from entering the windshield wiper linkage ball joint area.

Ford ranger 2003 short in truck

Inspect the fuse box assembly carefully looking for oily wetness from behind . If it is wet, its brake fluid that has permeated thru the pressure switch , into the wiring and saturated the fuse box assembly causing the short. The repair is to replace the brake master pressure switch with an updated part that comes with a new pigtail harness and a complete fuse box assembly from Ford that comes with all the fuses needed, just "plug and play". Also as an added precaution, you should isolate the wires that carried the brake fluid, strip off about an inch of insulation, solder the exposed area and re-tape exposed repair area.

My wipers turn off and on by theirself the switch has no control over it. I have replaced the wiper motor twice and that doesn't help what can be wrong ? It is a 1998 corvette

The problem is not the motor it is the switch it is grounding out and causing the wipers to come on bypassing the switch control.

Windshield wipers will not turn off until the fuse is taken out

I've diagnosed and repaired this problem twice on C5's. Both times I had to replace the wiper module (it's the printed circuit board mounted on the wiper motor).

Floor board on passenger side door gets wet when it rains. i am sure a vent drain is clogged

The drains in the wiper wells are probably clogged. You need to remove the plastic 'vent screen' under the wipers to clear out the debris. Remove the wipers and a few screws, not difficult at all. Also, under the hood, you will see a vertical tube on each side of the car under the wiper wells. These can be removed from under the hood without removing the wipers, but you will probably have to clear the wells anyway. What happens is the water backs up and enters the car through the fresh air inlet and comes in around the blower fan. Good Luck.

Check under the dash or on the sides of the dash with doors open, or under the hood in a box marked fuse relay. In most GM cars and trucks these are the places where thay stash the fuses

There is a water leak somewhere in my 98 toyota camry that leaks into my passenger side floor. There is no sun roof and no visible leaks from the windows or doors. Any thoughts? A/C leak maybe? water...

I am the original owner of camry xle 1998 with wet floors. In 2000 I had drivers side door seal leaking at welt. Removed old door seal and new weather strip on drivers side installed. The door panel was never wet, but wet at bottom of door where there are drain holes...slowly leaking under carpet.
In 2001 later water again. Coming from overflowing A/C evaporator-drain plugged/ tank full of debris. Removed evaporator, cleaned + drain cleaned.
In 2003, driver door seal against window rotted. Removed door panel and found leak at window belt molding at the mirror joint inside + out. Lots of mold under carpet needed to replace! Made a fuss at dealers for reacurring problem and they replaced the carpet for free.

Comfort controlode on 1998 corvette

Apply vacuum to the black/purple vacuum sorce line that is located under the glove box. if the Vent controls work properly then the problem is between the vacuum source and where the vacuum enters the cabin.

The Vacuum tank is located under the battery , but it has to be accessed by removing the RF wheel and the body panel behind the wheel, then you have to take out the computer. Battery acid wrecks havoc in this area, look for broken or disintigrated lines or bad vacuum switch or tank.
