I had the same problem and had it towed to the local dodge dealer. The problem was that it needed a new fuel pump. It's a fairly big job since the pump is located in the gas tank (what a brilliant idea). I had it done and it cost nearly $700. Still love the car!

Sounds like the Gas filter. Fairly easy fix. Locate gas tank. Follow gas line to engine, about half way usually by back door under the car, drivers side, is the small filter. Take a pic of it. Head over to car parts store. Show them what you need. It only takes a wrench and a bucket to catch a little gas.

My van turns over, as if it wants to start, but the engine isn't catching, which is what should make it start. I have checked the battery, starter, alternator, and fuel pump, all of which are good. I

hi,

spray some starting fluid in the the carb or throttle body and see if it runs for a second then dies. if it runs then dies then its the fuel pump, if it wont start with a shot of starting fluid then is spark, take off the distributor cap and inspect for corrosion. heres a video for the ignition control module thats probably it then..

Van wont start, loud, has a burning smell and the oil light is on

I'd feel best if you can find a reputable mec and have it looked at. There are a mess of things that can make loud noise. You could have anything from a bad berring to a blown engine. When your'e on the road remember go to someone who is reccomended or a national chain or dealer..

Bad gas van wont run

undo fuel pipe where it exits the fuel pressure regulater and turn engine over , use bucket and rag to catch pumped fuel , do this for half gallon and reconnect ,, then take spark plugs out and clean with easy start (eather) and replace , should start fine now ,

Chevy astro van turns over but wont start when

Check to see if the fuel pump is kicking in,
when you turn the key on without starting the van you should hear it kick on for about 2 seconds,

It could be...
A clogged fuel filter...
Blown fuse for the pump..or bad pump relay..
No gas
Bad fuel pump

Inside lights

Remove "Door Ajar" switch. Clean the switch and use a graphite type lubricant (I recommend "Dry-Slide") to lubricate the actuator on the switch. Reassemble the switch.

The switches are located inside the door panels, attached to the catch mechanism.

1) Remove interior door panel.

2) Using a T-27 Torx driver, remove the 3 bolts holding the catch in the door.
2a) The door ajar switch is the only part on the mechanism with the 2-wire harness.
2b) The switch is located at the rear catch for the sliding door.

3) Using a small flat screwdriver, gently lift the black tab on the catch mechanism and rotate the switch to remove it from the catch assembly.

4) Using a rag, clean the small round actuator and apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the actuator and work the switch so it moves freely.

5) Reassemble the catch and the door.
