Jaguar 1987 radio code reset failure

I have the code but it will not accept it. Had several repeated instances of discharged battery & now no luck

The code worked before in several instances over the past 16 years but I had the car at my mechanics for several days and the battery went dead overnight & he had to jumper it to take it back into the garage. This happened three times over the three day period. Since then, I have not been able to reset the radio using the original code that always worked before.

How do I reset check engine light in 1987 camaro

Old problem, but if not done already, disconnect neg terminal of battery momentarily, then reconnect and start. The ECM with go thru a re-learn for several minutes. The codes will reset, but if the problem still exists, the code will be re-thrown. Good luck.

Radio code

  • The 4-digit code for your radio is listed on the two radio security cards supplied with the vehicle.
  • Enter the code by using the pre-set buttons numbered 1 to 6 and a "beep sound" occurs.
  • If the code is not properly entered, then begin the code entry again, starting with the first digit. If the code is not properly entered in three successive attempts the radio will not accept any entry until the radio has been left on for one hour (the radio display will show the word 'WAIT'). After one hour in the 'on' position the radio will accept three additional entries.

Note: Should you lose your radio security cards, contact your Jaguar Dealer, who for security reasons will require proof of vehicle ownership.

I hope this info helps!

Hi have replaced the battery on my jaguar 2000 w reg v6 model , I now have to reset the codes, climate control, radio, clock. anybody know? Thanks.

Press key 1 on the radio until the first number of your code appears. then repeat for 2,3,4 and once your code is on the screen you then press 5 to accept it.

Also remember to set your windows by holding the switches in the up position for about 5 seconds each

Radio in in security mode will not accept code

If you tried lots of wrong codes you just have to wait a large amount of time before it will let you have another go. I tried heaps on my car and it locked me out for several days, but by then I finaly had the code from the dealership. Patience is the answer here I think. Alternatively I guess you could leave the accessories on for ages in your garage. Don't flatten your battery tho.

DSC fault on display, car stops complete electrical failure.

Hi Jagman

I suspect this could be your battery at fault.

Get it heavy discharge tested first.

Good Luck.
