A number of electrical problems have occurred on a volvo v50, srs service urgent light come on, tail gate open when it is closed, no indicators but hazard warning lights working, anti skid service urgent boot wouldn't open, central locking not working, windscreen wipers won't go off, red warning triangle on, said only one seat belt in back plugged in when two where in, engine starts ok. any suggestions. Common fault,usually goes off on its own,nothing life threatening though.

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS, MIL, CEL and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Ensure all doors are closed. Turn ignition key to position I. Press and hold reset button [A] 104667 07, 116126 07 Immediately turn ignition key to position II (within 2 seconds). Keep button [A] depressed until service message has been reset. A yellow warning light [B] will illuminate when it is time to release button [A]. Release reset button [A] within 4 seconds. There will be an audible signal when reset is complete. If reset button is not released within 4 seconds, the service interval indicator will not be reset.

No! This electrical! I'm having the same problem with my 04R too. I've replaced the alternator and battery. Still having the problem. Dealer says there is module thats going bad and draining my electrical system.........

You are in the Ballpark. It will cost you several Hundred to fix. Will prob have to have the module replaced. Go to a trusted European repair placed. DO NOT TAKE TO DEALERunless you want to give them the car. They are very happy with $$$$$$$$ You can fix for alot less than dealer. Good luck.
