Been looking for dip stick to transmission on my 1996 bmw 318i.an cant find it .please help

there are two dip sticks.I would look for the one that is the furthers towards the the back by the firewall.it should have a loop also for your finger to go into.If its a stick shift,then i would check underneath the car.look for a filler plug on the side of the transmission.thank you.

it could be your plug wires or the timing

You must locate the transmission dip stick. Look towards the rear near the firewall. It looks like the oil dipstick but larger. You fill up or add transmission fluid through the transmission dipstick hole.

I have a 99 Cabrio and there is no transmission dip stick. According to the manual, you cannot add transmission fluid to the transmission yourself, you have to take it to a dealer.

you have to fill it through the dip stick hole.

it is a sealed trans. you will have to bring it to BMW to have them take a look.... they dont put a dip stick on that car and many other's so you can't do anything except bring it to them to have it worked on... sorry for the bad news.... hope this helps you

If you don't know why BMW doesn't have a transmission fluid dipstick you should seriously consider finding a trustworhty BMW mechanic in your area.

this model does not come with a dipstick. does require special tool to remove transmission fill plug on the side of the transmission. just fill to the top of the fill hole.

if it is the 2.2 L motor it is right in the front of the engine just about center.

now just incase your looking for tthe transmission dip stick, on certain transmission models there is no dip stick for the transmission. it is sealed.
