SOURCE: not starting!

Check and see if the Injectors are firing. Disconnect one of the injectors and use a test light and paperclip. Put the paperclip in one of the disconnected injector connectors terminals, clip the testlight to the paperclip. Now touch the tip of the testlight to the other terminal in the same connector DON'T LET THE TWO TOUCH TOGOTHER AT ANY TIME!! Have someone crank the engine the light should blink if so good Now do it to the other three I have seen a bad computer that was only firing two injectors,
If its the computer you cannot just go and buy a used one and pop it in they are programmed to the vehicles VIN # you will go to the Chevy Dealer to have the program uploaded into the PCM in the truck
Please give me a fixya f you think this information is helpful Thanks Randy

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

Will a blown fuse keep a dodge the coda 2000 with a 4.7 from starting the fuses 140 amp fuse that runs from the battery to the alternator

Hi Kelly, IM AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

YES Kelly that fuse will keep the vehicle from starting, If you install a new fuse and it blows again you most likely have a shorted alternator, to check it out, simple unhook the power wire from the back of the alternator, install a new fuse and if it does not blow again then replaced the alternator with a new one. CAUSION: Please be very careful not to let the power wire from the alternator touch anything be cause it can melt something. Best way is to unhook the battery, take the wire off and wrap it with a towel then hook the battery back up and do your test with the fuse. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website:

Why does my 20 amp fuse blow when the engine is running, but work without issue when the engine is off?

Why fuses blow or how to find short circuits or drains !

(the Park (tail-running) lamps go to up to 20+ places) ... The below covers shorts in the cab box, not the 50-100 amp engine bay fuse box that loves to rust out.

How to replace the horn fuse?

Most of the time it is not a fuse, it is the relay. Horns use alot of voltage to work , and therefore use a relay to close the circuit to make the horn blow. some relays are under the dash, some behind gloveboxes and a few in the engine compartment. You give no make or model of your vehicle so I have no Idea where it would be. You will need and electrical schematic of your make and model to locate the relay.

Horns and headlights will not shut off

There is a short in both systems.
The horn short is either at the clock spring ot the horn its self. Must be at the clock spring because when you discon the horn it stopped so the short is before the horn.
The headlights are shorted at the relay or the switch.. have a technician look these over. That clock spring for the horn is located by the airbag if you don't disarm it properly its a$ 1,500 mistake not to mention geting slapped by your air bag. These are not big repirs but could be if not done properly. Send the jobs out.

81 toyota pick-up. No spark

Check to make sure the main fuse is good. Sometimes those blow when you short out a wire from the battery to the ground on the car *like when an alternators live wire hits ground on the car.
On a 1981 Toyota pickup, im unsure of where it is located, but sometimes they are located in the fuse box, as a big fuse usually a 100 amp or 80amp fuse.. Sometimes they are located along a ground connected to the engine and the frame of the car. This could make it just crank and not start.
Check also to make sure that the engine is grounded, by taking a test light and connecting it to the positive side of the battery, and testing the metal around the motor. Sometimes grounds can break, or when shorted out they can melt. If the motor is not grounded then it will not start. and will just crank.
Hope this helps a little - Jarett

Horn blows fuses

you may need to put a relay in it as the current from the horn may be back feeding up the immobiliser horn circuit and causing a short. Sounds like the immobiiliser has its own source of power seperate from the factory circuit When you press the horn the power goes to the horn and up the immobiliser horn circuit and it blows the fuse.
