Truck didn't have an airfilter so the throttle body was dirty i cleaned it off with throttle body and carbeurator cleaner. This made my idle better and cooled down my engine. I also changed my fuel filter hoping it would solve the problem of the truck dying. And it helped a little but didn't eliminate the problem.

The possibility of a malfunction in the shifting linkage (under by the transmission). Might be a minor problem of wear in the linkage over the years.cable or linkage out of adjustment. Verify from underneath. But if that is checked ok, then the transmission gear are worn out, its a transmission related issue. The transmission gear box needs to be inspected. Also the clutch has to be inspected.------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
