2006 ford five hundred shortage in passenger headlight

My headlight will not stay, there is a shortage! When I move the wire to the headlight the light will come on but as soon as place the wire down, the light goes off. When I wiggle the wire to the headlight on the passenger side the bulb will turn on and off. I took my car to the dealer but they are asking for $45 just to look at it and there is a deductible on the warranty which the mechanic stated it would be cheaper to have it fix out of pocket instead through the warranty....is there something I can do to get this fix without a heavy cost, like a do it yourself solution?

You can look at the socket, making sure that the prongs are not spread to far apart, also it may the wire is comming apart form the connector, easiest fix go to a junk yard and find a similar connector, cut it leaving tails on it for you can wire nut or splice into your vehicle. Hope this helps Tim

Check for a loose connection on the back of the bulb, wire in the connector for the bulb or a bad ground connection/ wire
all you can do with a visual inspection

SOURCE: AirbAg light Stays on! faulty!

I had the same thing happen to my 2002 Ford Escape. It would blink for a couple of minutes and then stay on everytime I turned on the car. A friend of mine who was mechanic thought it might be the airbag sensor connector under the driver's seat. In my case, that's exactly what it turned out to be.
Try this and see if it fixes your problem. It worked for me....
Check under your driver's seat. There will be a connector underneath. Unplug it and check both connections (the car is off of course). Over time they get corroded and dirty. I took a cotton swab and cleaned out the prongs within the plug. Bend them just a tiny bit so that when you reconnect them, the prongs will have better contact. After you reconnect them, turn on your car and hopefully it took care of your problem. My problem hasn't come back ever since.
Hope this helps...

Have to do some voltage drops with a volt meter

Most likely will need a wiring diagram to find the problem

You'll need the electrical wiring diagram for that. You can also buy a universal harness where you bought your sterio with the adapter kit.

I would read trouble codes with a scanner. Its free at any auto part retailer. Sounds to me like a bad cam sensor.

Passenger headlight has a shortage in the wire. How do I know? The light bulb is not blown per auto mechanic, AutoZone, and by looking at the bulb myself; when I move the wire to the headlight the light...

You can fix it yourself you just need to find out where the shortage is. If its up close to the bulb then its not a big deal to change. Just go to an auto parts store and get a new headlight pigtail for it then splice it in. If its further up the harness it can be a little bit more difficult.

Has Coke or anything that goes sticky been spit around gear shift? I have had this before & had to pull console apart & clean with spray & wipe.

Looking for the a/c low servic port on a 2006 ford five hundred. I think i located it under the cowling up against the fire wall on the passenger side. Not sure though.

Hi, if the port you see is along the line that runs from the firewall to the compressor, then you have the right port. The high pressure port is a larger port, and your charging hose will not fit on the high side port.
