the fogs lights have to be separate from the head lights so they will have a switch somewhere unless the lights were fitted by a back yard diy in which case they would be wired to the headlight relays
It's a surprise that an Elantra would last 10 years. Time to get this issue to a mechanic, and trade the car in. Look for a car that will last without issues and problems. I owned a new Hyundai Elantra for four years, and paid for it twice from so many electrical, steering, and suspension issues. I now drive an Infinity for the past 7 years, drove it for 160,000 miles, and not a single repair bill. Just maintenance. Other cars you may consider are Volkswagen, Volvo, Lexus, and Audi.
brake lights and blinkers use the sale filament in the bulb the running light is the other (in a dual filament bulb) you may have a poor connection or a break inside the bulb base. test with a known good bulb. the next place to look is the connector on the light switch and the joint where the running lights split off.

from your comment, theres 3 things that can cause this, loose batt.post connection, weak batt.or something in elect. circuit that stays on after car is off and drains batt.,like underhood light, dome or truck light, what u can do is when u park car unhook batt. cable, make sure batt. is well charged, hook it up next day if car starts, its something that drains batt.in car! if it doesnt start, batt. needs replacing.i ruled out starter, dealer should have checked it to see if it was pulling too much amps, and that its easy to jump.
