My jeep is spiting and sputtering and wont go

It will run fine for a min then get where it wont got, it will not pull at all.

    found my problem related to front oxygen sensor and battery sliding into computer wiring harness disrupting sensor input/output signals. placed 1" spacer on rear battery clamp pushing battery forward. this cured my problem.

Similar problem after 20min cool down due to bad o2 sensor in exhaust manifold, and under certain driving conditions this problem returned. I noticed the battery was sliding into computer wiring harness disrupting sensor input/output signals. I cured problem by placing a 1" spacer on rear battery clamp, pushing battery forward. Problem forever cured.

SOURCE: every time i put a new muffler on my 1997 jeep

What a funny set of events.Of course the tail pipe is clear(you would have checked that)The only other thing it might be is the cat/converter is blocked.New muffler is allowing a heap of air through and it suddenly clears and the bang.They do block up so it may be worth getting it checked.Hope this helps

Could be the plug wires or the igntion coil overheating and shorting. The tempatures rise very high when the engine is worked hard causeing the insulation on older wires to leak current and short-out, idleing lets either to cool enough to recover. Same is true for the coil.

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.
I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?
