Replace the beeper that makes the sound when you are in reverse.the light will also go out after you replace thet beeper.

Sounds like your shift cable has gotten out of sync, If this is the case, you take the shify cable loose from the link on transmission, then shift link to park position , then adjust cable to line up to the link and rehook.
