Question about 2002 Cadillac Deville
Car was running fine. went to start it and there was a loud pop. the car never turnd over. the key is now stuck in the ignition. it wont turn all the way back. the message cleared all info such as average miles, gal fuel used, miles to emty, ect. the car wont turn over and now says service theft system

Check out this thread and take your Caddy for a couple of Wide Open Throttle runs on the Interstate. Clears out the carbon buildup on the rings that is causing oil blowby.

SOURCE: theft system locked
To get the key out; look under the steering wheel for a plastic flat head screw. untwist it and then push the spring in and your key will be free. Then, go to your fuse box and remove the main fuses and you will hear the doors unlock when the system reset itself. Plug them back in and start your car. This just happened to me... seems the only things that were working were the navigation screen, headlights, fog lights, and reading light on the inside. Dash board was all dark except the engine light.

Look for a plastic plug directly under key in bottom of column. Under plug is a switch take small philips screwdriver & push on switch while turning key backward to take out.
