So Far this Summer I have had to replace a seal that leaked oil down into the spark plug wells and carboned up the piston heads in May. Then I had to replace the main computer board in June because it wouldn't communicate with the State's OBD for inspection. Had to go to heavier weight oil because of flickering low pressure readings in August even after replacing the sensor. Replaced the drive belt 2 weeks ago. Now I am getting P0315 Error code for the crank shaft position sensor. The wiring connection looks good. I don't know what to test at the sensor with a multimeter to verify the sensor is good or not. Are these problems all related? Is one of these causing this issue because I did something wrong or the dealership didn't do something when they replaced the computer board? Any Help is appreciated.
P0315 - Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned
Possible causes- Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Crankshaft Position (CKP)
- Damaged crankshaft pulse wheel teeth. Tech notes Visual inspection of the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and crankshaft pulse wheel teeth for damage. If crankshaft teethes are OK, replaced the Crankshaft Position sensor
Testimonial: "By checking all the things recommended it narrowed it down to the dealership not doing all the calibrations when circuit board was replaced. "

just because u gitta code only means a general area-never replace parts until further insite--put a tech II on that baby-it will run a data stream

Replaced the crank shaft position sensor and that didn't fix it. Can changing the drive belt throw off the crank shaft positioning and subsequently the timing?
