You may have a defective starter solenoid, this is the common symptom, a click and no engine turn over. Have a shop diagnose this before any parts are replaced but i feel sure the starter solenoid is the problem here. The solenoid is mounted to the top of the starter motor which is bolted into the transmission's bell housing.

SOURCE: Car would not start and made a clicking noise. I

the clicking is normal when the battery is dead and the lights will work for a short time with a dead battery. this will either be because of a bad battery or a bad alt. you can go to any part store and they will check the charging system for free.

Your battery is bad. If the car runs on a jump and stays running then it is the battery or a weak alternator. Autozone can test both for you and let you know which one it could be.

yes' it sounds like a bad solenoid to me. you can check with a volt meter to see if there is voltage going thru the solenoid to be sure.

2002 windstar wouldnt start jumped and started. then no start

Hi, chances are you have at least one bad battery cable. Check them with an ohm meter. If you have any resistance in your reading, say above 0.02 change your cable. Hope that helps.

My E320 will not start, tried jump starting the battery just makes a ticking sound and will not turn over

weak jump leads made in china with alloy cable ,either fit a new battery or use commercial copper cables with thickness of at least half inch not including the insulation and double connection pincers ,you need to pass 200amps at 12v to start vehicle and your puny cables wouldnt even jump enough power for the side lights

When turning key all the way over it simply does nothing what could it be

Hi,
You'll likely need a new ignition switch. (The electrical side) You can confirm this by pulling the lower steering cover when issue is occurring, and using a test light on the black and yellow wire when turning key to "Start" position. If test light doesn't illuminate, replace switch. (Easy)

2003 Trailblazer- no power after key stuck in ignition

Sounds like an antitheft problem I would start with the antitheft system. Usually when you only have one key all keys have to be programmed together even the original. When you have more than one it is easy to program additional keys.

if all it does is click with a new battery it is not the alternator because all the alternator does is charge the battery i would take the starter or selinoid off if it isnt built in with the starter and have it tested the same as you did the battery
