My 1988 toyota corolla speedometer is not working, i believe the cable i broken, how i ca change it?
You have to remove the speedo unit on the dashboard front of your steering wheel. you must be careful not to brake anything. then turn it slightly on the left and you will see the speedo cable connector in the center of the unit, Unplug it,it is easy, the go in the engine compartment on the gear box side and you will see the speedo cable ended on top of the gear box close to firewall and you have to unscrew the end and slowly slowly pull the cable coming off the fire wall from the driver's side by pulling as well a rubber sealer on the firewall. renew it and go backwards fitting.

Are you sure that it is not electric? Look at the output on the transmission to see if there is a cable, or WIRES.
