Hi, can any one help, i have a citroen xantia 2001 110bhp diesel can set my alarm with the key fob every thing will be fine but after about 4 to 6 hours suddenly the alarm will start sounding for no reason, i can dissarm it no problem with the fob when the alarm does go off, another problem i have is when engine is running and i put the heater blower on i get the red stop light on the dash if i switch the heater off the stop light goes out, appreciate anyones info on these problems regards.
PSA cars with analog instrument clusters have the STOP light to alert drivers of irregularities in engine temperature or coolant that may cause severe damage to the engine. Check your radiator coolant level and top up when it's low. Don't forget to bleed the air from the cooling system. If problem persist, check for loose connectors to the Coolant Temperature Sensor(mounted on the cylinder head) and the Coolant Level Sensor (mounted on the side of the coolant refill tank). For the alarm, check ALL door switches including those for the front hood and the rear trunk. They may be shorted to earth or one of the door becomes ajar. Next time the alarm triggers, check which door looked like it's slightly opened. If so, realign the door hook located in the door pillar.

have you fixed this problem? if not ,here we go ,hj6ocruiser had 4lt a,2h engine if you have a 4.2 ltr engine in yours it will be ,a 1hz motor and a bugger of a job to fit(i have only done one and even though i have been asked i wont do another) the point being ,with out modification the 2 glow systems are not compat able the early 2h had 11 volt glow plugs then they went to 6 volt with a largeglowplug in the manifold (manifold heater) the 2h did chnge to the superglow system but not untill 1995 (in australia anyway) if you did not change the timer you will find you burn out glow plug s pretti regularly. if you brought it to me ,iwould remove, check and re place (where necessary)all the glow plugs and the manifold heater .then run an independant 12 volt wire, after disconecting the existing feed to the manifold probe, the new wire runs through an
independant switch fitted on the dash board to the manifoldheater.there
is no doubt in my mind that this is the soplution to your problem----- the quick fix is asquirt of aerostart into the air cleaner as you co to turn her over or else loosen the wingnut on top of the air cleaner a teaspoon or so of petrol at wingnut and fire her up, aerostartis best ,if you can let me know how you get on i`d appreciate it youdoit
