All indicatots work, front and back, but the hazard light wont switch on. The actual switch on the dash doesnt want to press so hazard lights wont come on.

first check the bulbs on that side by visual or changing to the other side if you can't see that well if the bulbs from the front and back work or are good when checked the flasher has blown out on one side and you have to replace it other possible cause could be a broken wire for the right side lights so look at the connectors for that side front & back if all is good one more thing could do this the actual turn signal lever that you use to activate the signals could be bad for the right side especially if it does not go back to the normal position after making a turn and the steering wheel rotates back to it's normal position but the turn signal lever does not click back to the center position this would burn out that side from the signal constantly being on good luck stephen
Replace the flasher under the dash next to the steering column. The four way flasher is separate and plugged into the fuse panel is why it still works.
I would check each bulb on the side with the most issue, usually when one light goes out,for whatever reason, the system is designed to malfuntion signalling an alert to the operator..with the lights and hazards on, check each fixture for good operation while opening up each light take the bulbs out and inspect them for defects, replace with new if anything is doubtful be careful with the bulb grease dont get any on the contact points because it will get hot and cause small issues.. do each light at a time until all 4 are working fix any defects to include burnt fixtures and broken wires and make sure all grounds are good also, these connectors are notorious for rust and corrosion so clean them well before reinstalling , I use the same bulbs in my 92 dodge so i am aware of the type..good luck..
Have you tried wiggling the hazard light switch? The brake light switch puts 12 volts to the hazard/turn signal switch, and the switch will apply this to both taillights. If you turn on the left or right turn signal,it will only route 12 volts to the other light. If you turn on the hazard lights,it will only allow the 3rd brake to come on due to the brake switch.Often.the hazard light/brake light contacts get corroded due to not being turned on and off regularly.Have someone watch the taillights(or use a mirror) to see if they come on when you wiggle the hazard switch. If it does, turn the hazard light switch on and of repeatedly to clean the contacts.
Hello, Check under the Drivers side dash. Look at the top of the brake pedal lever and there is a switch there. Sometimes the switch gets kicked and damaged or just shifted in its' holder. The switch is most likely working as it is the one which allows you to shift out of Park when depressing the brake pedal.
You can check your brake lights too, but they may work if the switch case is broken and not shorted.
It sounds more like wiring or a loose plug to it.Does the light work when the hazards are on?The relay would affect them all not just 1 light. If it also doesn't work with the hazards, you need to just turn the wires to the connectors and right at the connector in circles with the blinker on and see if it comes back at all. Please let me know if anything turns up or not and we'll see what else we can do.Good luck! Greg
Not even the third eye? then the fuse is blown or all the bulbs are out or the brake light switch on the break pedal is bad wire off or broken( it breaks right off the plug then crosses then blows the fuse as the loose broken wire hits the brake pedel arm. Test the break pedal switch first if the third eye doesesnt work either. no power with a test light the fuse is blown or the wire broke ( the wire goes straight to the switch from the fuse and doesnt go anywhere elese. the other wire if hot should light the lights. Most of these wont come out of park without this working as the wire also turns on the park release but some Fords the park release sticks released and Ford made em that way as they didnt like the brake to get out of park law. If the brake lights dont work maybe you ought not be able to get out of park anyway till its fixed. the switch is hot on both wires with the switch pused down and the lights dont still work go after the third eye first if the bulbs are bad change em before you do the rest of the work. on cars with yellow turn signals the brake lights all work on the same wire but red only use three wires, but you didnt say the turn signales didnt work if they work and they are red you r on the way to the turn signal switch as the brake switch powers the turn switch with power then it splites it fot the two lights and adifferent switch circuit for the front hooks them all together for hazard. yellow turns in the back or even separt bulbs can mean blown bulbs ther too its old enought for all the bulbs to fail and the runs still work.
The hazards won't go off on my ford fusion How do I turn them off
