What is the reason why check engine always appears in my honda odyssey guage

Check lights have been on all vehicles for 32 years
no reason at all to ask that question

Read your owners manual

No one can tell you why the light is on

Your vehicle has to be checked for codes within a
day or so of any light on the dash, that stays on &
diagnosed & repaired as soon as possible-week or
two depending on the issues

Honda odyssey SMS light is on what it stand for

I know of no SMS light, are you sure it is not the SRS light which means a problem has occurred in the supplimental airbag restraint system.

98 Odyssey replacing dash bulbs

You don't need to take your dash apart. The problem is likely just a fuse. Check all fuses, could be labled as PNL, Lights, Dash or similar.

As simple as this may sound, also check the dimmer, and make sure it isn't turned all the way down.

That info is in the owners manual, Honda doesn't make them avaiable for free downloading like American cars do so we don't have the info you need.

On my 2005 Honda odyssey the low beams and certain lights on my dash board (like the forward, reverse etc.. ) don't light up by the gear stick. James

YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE SMALL BULBS IN THE DASH AND REPLACE BULB IN THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR..

Srs light on in 1996 Honda odyssey. I have read that i can erase codes by using the MES connector and a service tool. I have also read that anytime you work on the airbag system you must disable it first....

If you don't fix the underlying problem, the SRS light will just come back on right away. There is no way to bypass this. Fix it or live with the light. Erasing the code and not fixing won't help at all

My SRS light is on why?

1 of 2 reasons

1 loose conector

2 air bag deploy

likely number one shake the wires under the dash by your feet
failing thet mechanic or dealer

SRS stands for supplemental restraint system (airbags). Have your car hooked up to a diagnostic computer at a dealer or good repair shop. They will tell you if your problem is with the warning system or the restraint system itself. Do not ignore this warning. And good luck with it.

SRS light stays on

I have 2002 Odyssey( 59000 miles without warranty). Several months ago the SRS light stayed on after I started the car. Some people said the dealers usually charge $ 80 to 95 to reset the light. Today I sent the car to dealer. After checking the car, they told me the car is under warranty, the parts and repairing are free.

Check the female part of you seat belt, see if any wire is damage or disconnected and if all seems normal then replace the female seatbelt.

Hi Alex, I just tried that and the light still stays on... however the seat belt light went out. I have no idea what the SRS is....

hope you checked both seats? but if you did, it's just a light that might need to be rest with a scan tool,also! it would'nt hurt to check with your dealer about any recalls regarding this issue.
