I would suspect the belt again. You may want to pull the cover and check the marks on the gears. One of the cams could have jumped a few teeth.
Not exactly. Generally the valves open on every other cylinder like the firing order. So it could be 1-2-3-4--5 for example. If the belt slipped on one cam gear that cam would be off by a couple of teeth but if it slipped on the crank both cams could be off. Valve timing is about the only thing I know of that would affect compression on both heads.

I have 3 cylinders with low compression but not on the same bank would a belt cause it to drop on both banks the mechanic thinks if the belt slippped all the cylinders would be on one bank is that right.
