2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Locked the doors using the key fob (keyless entry). And hour later, tried to get into the jeep using key fob, but wouldn't work. Unlocked door with key, but NOTHING happens when I try to start the car, like a kill switch is on or something. Any way known to reset it? I bought new batteries for key fob - no luck.

Same problem. Keyless stopped working and the key would not open the door. Like the battery just dies. Had to call pop a lock and then got the door open and everything was working fine. Two months later same problem. So waited few hours then keyless entry worked. Battery is new in Jeep and the battery is also new in the keyless

1999 jeep Cherokee sport. Bought a new fob today and programmed by the dealership. It will lock and the panic button works. However unlock will not work. The dome light does come on when pressing the unlock button. All interior switches work locking and unlocking the doors. Since I paid so much and the dealership would not refund my money they agreed to check to see if the Keyless entry module by the dome light is going bad. If it is good where should I start looking and what should I look for?

Remote won't open car door, have changed the batteries, still does not work.
If I buy a new key fob how will I know that it will work? Or would it be the receiver that is not functioning?

I have changed the batteries on the key, and still does not work. I open and lock the door manually. Would it be the receiver that is not working? If I buy a new key fob will it work? Or is it just a reset problem? How do I do this?

The remote keyless entry stop working, batteries have been changed in key fob.

Unfortunately MOST battery operated key fobs are poorly built. Its very common for one of the battery contact solder joints inside the fob to break loose. I've repaired more than 30 of them so far. Check the solder joints and re-solder as needed.

PLESE DONT EVEN TRY.it aint that simple, the computer tells the engine that you have the right key but as you dont have remote locking anymore it thinks your trying to STEAL it.you NEED to replace the remote fob.(you call it keyless entry)think of it this way if it were that simple why fit an alarm system in the first place....(someone asked if you could take out a fuse to stop the alarm !!!!!.)

My keyless remote for my 2000 jeep grand cherokee wont unlock the

go to autozone and use the remote tester on the counter to make sure that the remote itself is functioning or not, could be a dead battery. On some vehicles it is possible to reset the keyless entry by turning the ignition switch from off to run (right before the starter activates) 3 times or so, if you try this and the door locks activate then press the lock button on your remotes. good luck
