SOMETIMES AFTER IT SITS IN DRIVEWAY FOR A COUPLE DAYS WITHOUT BEING STARTED, IT WON'T START FOR 3 OR 4 DAYS. THEN WILL RUN FOR SEVERAL DAYS WITH NO PROBLEM. TOOK IT TO DEALER, IT STARTED FOR THEM AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. SAID CALL THEM WHEN IT WON'T START AND THEY WOULD SEND A FLATBED AND THEN THEY MIGHT FIND SOMETHING.
Next time it want start...Loosen gas cap...If you hear it sucking air into gas tank it might be vapor locked....It's when your gas tank pressure becomes greater than your fuel pump..Cheap fix...Drill the smallest hole into the center of your gas cap...This could be your issue...
You should have a check engine light on this needs to be diagnosed first. No light then the possibilities are unlimited...... cam sensor ...fuelpump... fuel pump relay.... oil pressure and or levels

Engine temperature spikes when a car is shut down and many cars have an extra switch for the electric fan that will turn them on if the temp rises past a certain point.
That switch may have failed, making it necessary to allow the engine to cool off.
Your car may not even be equipped with that feature so I would suggest trying the following:
When restarting soon after shutting off, slowly press the accelerator pedal completely to the floor and don't let up on it until the engine fires.
Allow at least 20-30 seconds of cranking before giving up on it.
The engine may be getting surplus fuel because of a problem with the computer or a 'cold start valve' that lets the engine draw more fuel when cold so starting it 'hot' it may be getting too much fuel to fire (flooding).

Did you try changing the Fuel Filter? That did it for my Kia Sorento 2004.

There is a black rubber button reset switch right next to the air box, press it sounds like the problem i had its a fuel pump reset (just in case of a wreck it kills the car) but there is a tiny ball in there and if it is rattled a little too much it will fall and you need to press the black looking button to reset it....took me like 4 months to figure it out

hi
when the engine light come on engine computer detect problem in the engine.
I would like to advice you to scan the computer it can be sensors.
It can be EGR is blocked also air flow mas sensor.
Find a car-repair work shop which is using diagnostic equipment to solve problem.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. A lot of the stuff under your hood runs off of vacuum that your motor provides. Your brakes are no different. Your motor probably has enough vacuum to run fine but when you hit the brakes its just too much. I wouldn't push my luck. A car with a habit like that could make an accident real quick.
