Well, i locked my keys in my car one night, and had to break in to my car, i slid a wire coat hanger in my window and unlocked it. a couple days later while driving home, i went to roll up the window it made a loud pop sound and dropped into the door. (i thought the window spider webbed and cracked but the window is fine) what is wrong here? BTW the motor sounds like its cringing and rubbing, it does not bring the window up.

most likely the window regulator has broken inside the door and will need to be replaced as well as the regulator handle. To remove them you will need a basic metric socket set, screwdrivers, and a rag or shop towel. start by moving the rag back and forth behind the window crank in order to remove the retaining clip. then once removed pull the crank from the splines of the window regulator.now undo the screw in the door handle press forward on the handle to release it from the door then undo the lock rod clip and remove the handle. there should be two large phillips head screws below the arm rest remove these. gently slide a flat bladed screwdriver under the bottom edge of the door panel. prying up to remove the retaining clips used to fasten the panel to the door. if you break the clips you can get replacements at most auto parts stores in their help section. Next lift the door panel up while lifting the bottom edge away from the door to remove the door panel. once inside the door you will need to lift the window up to gain access to the two 10 mm bolts attaching the regulator to the glass. undo the regulator retaining bracket and retaining bolts from the door. remove the regulator an assistant can be helpful to hold the glass up while you remove the regulator. installation is the reverse of removal

sharpen end of coat hanger, bend with wire cutters first to be a hook of sorts, then clip at an angle to dig into the plastic of the door lock pull by the glass. You will have to shape the hanger a bit, can go in through a the driver's door if you pull hard on the door (and wedge with something to hold it open a little while you work), or through a rear side window if it can be opened a little.
Worked several times for me. A Slim Jim does too.

I have the same problem, just wondering if the alarm is going to go off, or will I have to deal with the embaressment.
