My a/c (heater & Defrost) doesn't always work, could it be a fuse or the fan blower?

Sometimes it works, other times it won't even blow air.

Possible cause bad control switch.if blower motor runs okay in AC MODE AND HEATER MODE,THE CONTROL SWITCH COULD BE THE CULPIT OF THE PROBLEM.

Sometimes the ac/heater/defrost works and sometimes they don't. When they do the air blows fine, otherwise nothing.....

SOURCE: I don't have any air blowing; no defrost; no heat;

First thing to do, is check your fuse assoicated with the heating/cooling and you have any fuse that may be shorted, then check your relay box located under the hood and swap it out with another relay of the same spec, if that works then it's your relay promblem and needs replacing. If that doesn't work, I might be sure it is the blower motor resistor yourself located under passenger dash. I have a sorento, and i had this promblem with no heat/ac or air and it was the blower resitor located on top of the blower if you take the passenger compartment glove box out.

SOURCE: A/C stopped working, only works slightly while car is in motion.

if you don't feel any cold air on recirc, then its not cooling. look at the a/c compressor under the hood and see if the clutch assy is engaging on it with the engine running and the a/c selector on. you either have no gas in the system or the a/c comp is bad.

SOURCE: AC blower won't come on

The problem is most likely the AC compressor clutch connector. It is a one pin connector. Located under the hood, near the clutch of the AC compressor. Clean this connector, make sure there is a good connection. I had the same problem and had to fix it myself. Works fine ever since.

Ac/heater fan doesn't work

According to my wiring diagram, the blue and white wire from the blower motor gets power from the key switch. The fan switch and resistor grounds the motor.
No blower fuse is listed.

Heater fan does work on 96chevy lumina

I'm guessing you meant "doesn't work". There is a blower motor fuse in the fuse block you should check first. If that is ok then I'd check the wiring to the blower motor and use a volt-ohm-meter to check the blower motor itself.

Interior fan want work

First, check the fuse block for an open / blown fuse. You didn't provide the make & model of your car, so you'll have to find out which fuse is used for the fan. Replace any open / blown fuse found with the correct size as determined by the manual. If it still doesn't work, keep reading:

Many cars and trucks use what is called a "resistor pack" that is used to determine various preset speeds for the heater & A/C blower or fan. When you switch the fan from one speed or another, power is passed through a different value of the resistor - which changes the voltage to the fan motor. The different voltages provides different speeds.

The resistor pack is usually the problem if the fan works at one or more - but not all speeds. It can be the problem if the fan doesn't work at all either. The location of the resistor pack varies with vehicle make and model, but is often very close to the motor itself and accessible from the passenger compartment. Consulting with a employee at an auto parts store or Chilton's (or similar) auto repair manual should get you to the right spot. Resistor packs are relatively inexpensive at about $25 or less.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Heater fan speed control only works on 3,4 & 5 on 2002 buick century .\r\n1 & 2 won't work. Is this a fuse problem????

No, it is not a fuse problem. Most likely you need to replace the heater blower resistor. A replacement should be available at your local parts store, and they should be able to help you find it's location. If you follow the wires from your blower motor, they will lead to this component. Usually two 7mm screws hold it in the heater box, but might be 5.5mm (7/32").

Blower on AC/Heater doesn't alway work is it the the blower mower or .... Fuse is Ok

Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. It has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.

Blower stays on when car is turned off won't stop running until I disconnect the battery cable, tried the blower fuse that didn't work. 1995 olds auroa

If you pulled the 10 amp fuse in the I/P fuse block and the blower still worked than the the blower motor module is most likely the problem. It is fed by a 30 amp fus4e in the fuse block under the rear seat. That fuse is always hot and always supply power to the blower motor module. If you pull that fuse and the blower stops than it's pretty likely the blower module is the problem.

The blower module is located near the blower motor. It is usually held in place with 2 screws and will have four or five wires at the connector.

No blower for heater 1993 nissan altima

It is very possible you blew a fuse. There are two 15 amp fuses for the blower motor, make sure you check both of them.
