Being a 2009 you might have to buy a new 1 at the dealer.unless you get lucky and find 1 in a junk yard.Alot of inner door handles can be changed by removing screw for trim on handle(usually in the center of handle, might have cover over it if so pop cover off to revael screw) and remove door rods off back of handle. If not you will need to remove door panel.

taking off the door panel is a lot of work. i can explain it all to you if you still have the same problem. i've replaced all of my door handles for all 4 of my hyundai's doors, so i'm experienced in this department. would you like a step by step walkthrough still?

SOURCE: Interior Door Handle

This was a three minute repair, once I had the replacement handle. Leave the door panel alone! Remove the single screw holding the old handle in place. Use a flat blade screwdriver to jimmy the old handle away from the door about an inch. There are two plastic clips holding it to the rods, one for the locking mechanism and one for the latch. Use the flat blade screwdriver to unclip these two connectors. Remove the broken latch, and don't worry, the rods won't disappear into the door! Reverse these steps with the new handle (insert rods, attach clips, wiggle assembly into place, and fasten with single screw). You're done!

2009 Hyundai Elantra SE - Driver side rear door won't open from the inside or outside.

You will need to remove the inside door panel, what that takes I don't know, but it must come off to access the door latch, there you will likely find the latch release control rod has come off or the latch is defective.

2007 Hyundai Accent the driver side door won't open from the inside. It opens from the outside so I have to roll down the window and open the door before i shut the engine off.

Either the interior door handle or the cable inside the door is broken. You'll need to remove the door panel and look to see what is damaged.
