Make sure everything including the radio is off and doors closed. Disconnect the negative battery cable and hook up a non-powered test light from the - battery terminal to the disconnected - battery cable end. If it lights, you have a voltage draw. (The trunk light could be the culprit).
You can do more damage trying to fix it youself if you don't know what is really wrong. I suggest you bring it to a mechanic to check out the damage. It also could be a simple thing like replacing the fuseble Links. First check that the battery is connected properly - to body ground and + to engine. Make sure battery is fully charged before installing. Good luck
open trunk, disconnect rear trunk light. use jump box and connect wires to pos neg on jump box. this will give u enough juice to open doors, I have done it twice. easy to do
Check your connections for tightness and corrosion. A corroded battery cable/post will diminish the current going to the dead battery.
Check jumper connections
Dead battery; the worse off the battery is, the more time it will take to charge the battery sufficiently enough to start the car; a completely dead battery with bad cells will never recharge sufficiently enough to hold a charge and start the car on a regular basis
Hope this answers your question. Best of luck. Greg
Well to start with the car would start if hooked up to another for jumpstarting.....This is what you should do....First before hooking up cables turn on your headlights ,,probably they didnt turn on cause of dead battery...turn them off and hook up cables ,prior to trying to start, turn on lights again if still no lights which is what i predict means faulty connection either with cables or corroded or loose terminals attatched at battery...clean and tighten as necesary and repeat procedure....Good Luck
First off, now, check the large fuses in the box on the fender. That is hopefully why nothing works now. If not, you may have REALLY messed something up. That is what they are for though, and should have caught the zap. If you get everything back where you can turn the motor over, and it still will not start, try to reset the security lock down. Put the key in the door and lock/unlock 5 times. It should start then.
it sounds like the battery was drained again but this one should be under warranty.Get it running again and look into those cutoff switches that automatically shut the lights.Until then.be extra careful, maybe even leave yourself a note on the drivers door to
'shut the lights'.
key off and out, diconnect negitive side of battrey then postive.clean terimals, charge battrey, connect postive cable (with key off)connect negitive.and start.
your dead battrey is taking up a big load on system,so when you boost it the dead battrey is taking it all the starter is geeting vey little.thats the clicking.
if you dont have a charger dicconect both terminals the same way again, put the jumper cables on the dead battrey.let it charge battrey for 10 15 mins .the longer the better.remover jumpers.
with key off and out conected battrey terminals.connect jumper cables and start.
let me know if it start or not hopefully the key hasnt lost its coding.
