You would need to find out if the system has been converted to R134 or if it is still using R12.
If R12 you would need to have a licensed tech do it, or have someone convert it to R134.

SOURCE: AC problem

is the compressor turning on? when you turn thwe a/c? on,
and also locate the low side line on engine compartment and feel if is cold, if it is, then your blend door system is not working,
the blend door does control the cold and hot air coming to engine.

SOURCE: My 2000xk8 Jag air conditon is blowing hot air . I had it

Most probably you have a leak some where.
What you can do is have it checked proffessionally , or if you like to do it your self :
Pressure fill the AC with AIR and you can use any air pump that will fit the lines. After filling the air (up to 300, not more han that) you can get some water with soap , and put soap over the AC lines and seals and corners in the engine compartment. if any leak you will see soap bubles. If nothing shows there then you have a problem with the cooling tank , radiator inside the dash and you need to check that.

SOURCE: I've recently had my A/C recharged but the system

This sounds as if your heater valve is not functioning. set your temp. to Low and leave the air con off and see if the air being blown in is at ambient temp. if it is still hot your heater valve/controls are not working. Check supply to heater divert valve if okay (it should change with different temp.settings) then you need to replace heater valve.

A/C stopped working and blowing hot air. Is there a fuse to check?

In almost every case, when hot air blows while AC is turned on, it's an indication the system is low on refrigerant. This could be due to a leak in the system. There are do-it-yourself kits sold at most auto parts stores or a qualified service station can recharge your system (they have to check for leaks prior to recharging the system).

If you can hear the compressor kicking on and are still getting hot air, check coolant level. If coolant level is good and compressor is kicking on, you may need to change out your thermostat.

1999 Chevy Cavalier A/C blows hot air

More likely the recharge blew a o-ring and you have a leak. When your Cavalier was blowing hot air and a recharge fixed it that means it was low on freon which lets o-rings dry out, go back to the shop and have them leak test it. They use a pressurized dye to find the problem. If it's blowing it's not the cooling fan relay, they may have meant compressor relay but I'd have a leak test done first it's not expensive and easier that chasing unknown possibilities.
