P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction
Possible causes- Faulty Vacuum hoses damaged
- Faulty Air Pump inoperative
- Air bypass solenoid harness is open or shorted
- Air bypass solenoid circuit poor electrical connection
- Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed
- Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed

This is likely a pump problem caused by water being sucked into the secondary air injection pump under the hood.

p0410 secondary air injection valve malfunction..
Just know that diagnosing this is time consuming since the "system" is only active for a few seconds on cold start.

for now:
1.) wait for your car to be "cold" or 4 hours. Disconnect the hose from check valve (located passenger side--the transmission dip stick is attached to the bolts that hold it to the block). Start the truck, you should hear a nasty sound for about 30 seconds to a minute. If you don't its your check valve.
1a.) If it is your check valve, you can try to clean it. Get some throttle body cleaner, remove the check valve spray thouroughly (I did it a couple of times to get all the carbon and rust out) and let dry reinstall and follow above instructions. If no go replace check valve

2.) wait for your car to be "cold" or 4 hours. remove the fattest hose from the underside of air intake hose (I think thats where it is, I have a CAI so Its hard to know where it is exactly OEM) and from the check valve. Have someone else start the truck. Feel the hoses, you should feel sucking and blowing (I can't remember which is supposed to blow / ****) If you don't feel anything then its the pump (maybe -- read further)
2a.) check fuses there are about 3 in the manual listed for air pump (if bad fuse replace and retest, make sure to check the fuses after to make sure that the pump isnt blowing fuses)
2b.) Locate the air pump its driver side mid car just behind the cross member for the frame. There are two wiring harnesess one that goes into the relay (grey box) and one that has two fat wires (thats the power plug for the pump.) disconnect that one, wait for cold start and start truck while having a multimeter attached set on DC mode. If you get a reading of 0 then replace the relay. if you get power 12-15 volts replace the motor.
3.) If both the check valve and the pump are testing out ok it could be a clogged hose.

There are only 3 parts to this system, Check Valve ($125), Air Pump ($280) and Relay ($50). parts4chevys.com has it listed as a check valve. $128 list. Good luck and hope this helps

P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction
I am very familiar with this failure code, you are going to have to replace the secondary air injection pump, it has a failed motor in it, the code really indicates no airflow from the pump when commanded to be on.

SOURCE: chevy 2-2 engine codes po410 and p1137

1137 is an o2 sensor code but I would have to look it up to see which one. 410 is a common one. Check the maxi fuse for the sec. air inj pump in the little fuse box tucked into the fender right beside the battery.

SOURCE: 2005 trailblazer LT..code po410 secondary

if the pump is fine, there must be water in the system. Check the entire system for water build-up or replace the pump

Code 410

code po410 on a 2004 gmc envoy is that there is a problem with the secondary air injection system, you will need to check the fuse located in the engine compartment first, the next step is to start the truck cold and listen for the air pump to turn on for a few seconds, this will sound like a jet engine but not that loud, after it runs for 5 min and you dont hear it then you may have a bad pump which is located under the driverside on frame but if you hear the pump then you may have a bad valve, this valve is located on the exhaust manifold area and has a hose from the pump to valve, remove the hose and check for water, drain any water in the hose, also remove hose at pump and drain, the most common cause for this code is the valve is not opening and the air pump gets water inside and goes bad, thats the po410 code. a quick note; if fuse is blown look under truck near pump and check relay as it fills with water and blows fuse, if this is the case replace relay and blow water out of connector.good day.

I have a 00 cadillac deville base. i have a po410 check engine code. i was wondering what is the usually fix for this

Code po410 secondary air ignition malfunction

Start up your car cold, if you don't hear a sound like a vacuum cleaner running under your car you probably need a new air pump.
First, check the maxi-fuse in the underhood fuse block for the AIR pump.
If it's blown then you need to get under the car on the driver's side.
Remove the front cover and look at the bottom cover on the air pump, if it's dislodged and full of water the pump probably sucked up some water and is no longer good. There is a bulletin out to replace the air pump and the intake duct with a redesigned part that is not so suceptible to water intrusion. Also it's possible that the connector is burnt up, I have seen some with new air pumps set codes because of a fried electrical connection.thank you and have a wonderful day

Engine light came on, code po410 came up.

This has to do with the secondary air pump system, this system is used at cold start-up and involves three components; air pump, solenoid valve and a relay. Many times the valve becomes stuck or clogged, the relay has also been known to fail.

Which sensor do I need to correct code po410

PO410. Secondary air pump code.

Check fuse for air pump. Blown.
Replaced the air pump if it's in Bad shape.
The air pump is only $100 (NAPA) Gotta be water in the air pump. Water gets in air pump...then rapid below freezing conditions the air pump freezes...blows fuse.....set air pump code.

There is a GM bulletin about a new intake tube for the air pump for exactly this problem. This new intake tube should save the air pump, get the new intake pipe/valve the same time you repair or replace the air pump if it's gone bad. Check the fuse first though, good luck.
