Could be electrical or mechanical.
Does the crankshaft turn by hand ?
Have you checked for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch ?

when replacing the starter was there an aluminum heat shield?
It would go between starter and the block. It may have been
discarded earlier and would solve the problem.

you may have short circuited the starter. have you tried to turn over the engine manually by turning the crank bolt to see if your engine has seized...water into the intake could have gone into the cylinder(s) and caused the block or head to warp, if all of the above is not relevant then I would have to suggest that it is a faulty starter motor, when the starter failed on one of my jeeps i found the replacement to be rather expensive then I remembered my fathers trick & his favourite phrase - if in doubt then give it a clout! so i smacked the starter motor from the undersiide quite firmly with my FBH F***ing Big Hammer & Lo & Behold it started up first time - hope this helps

Engine turns over but will not start only when engine is warm

my car has the same exact problem!! i have 2 pop the clutch 2 get it started when it is hot. Mine starts great when its cold or hasn't ran 4 awhile but when we are driving around for more than about 20 min in it when we stop it doesn't start at all. it wont even turn over. so i have 2 have my husband push it while i pop the clutch & then it starts & runs fine till the next time we turn it off. its not a battery problem as we'v replaced the battery, & the starter & the alternater are fine as we'v had them tested. hopefully someone that knows & has fixed this problem can answer this mystery problem!! hopefully some1 can :D

Starter clicks but wont roll the engine over

Most likely your battery is dead, the clicking usually indicates that. The battery may have the required voltage however, it may not have enough amps. Try giving it a jump start.

Engine wont turn over on my gv 2006

The 1st thing i need to do is clarify what you mean by "won't trun over" do you mean the starter motor spins the engine and it will not fire up or that the starter doesn't trun the engine over? If the starter doesn't turn the engine over do you hear a clicking coming from the starter solenoid when this happens? If so replace the starter solenoid the heavy electrical contacts are burned.

Truck wont start, when i turn the key all the lights come on, but the engine wont turn over at all, no bump or nothing could it be the starter?,

Check your battery if it is to corrodid it won't have enough amps to turn the starter then check the starter if that is all good check your ground you should have a main ground to the block and another to the body

I pulled the starter, alternator & battery they all checked good and ity still wont turn over what could it be?

If you can hear the starter click or engage when you try to start . Either the battery has low voltage or the engine has seized. You can check the engine by putting a wrench on the crank pulley bolt and try to turn by hand.Make sure to disconnect the battery first. If the engine turns it's good. If the starter is making a loud grinding noise but does'nt turn the engine. It's your flywheel/flexplate. Also make sure your battery connections are clean and tight for proper voltage delivery. I'm not sure if your car would have a fuse or power relay for the starter, but it might be worth checking out. If you do not hear a click from the starter when you turn the key it could be a short in the ignition switch. Not the key tumbler, the electrical switch is behind the ignition key tumbler. Hope this helps. Other than this you may need a repair manual to trace the wiring of the starting system and fusable links.

ENGINE WONT START HAVE JUICE WONT TURN OVERT JUST CLICKS

The click is the starter solenoid

Forget juice, that's slang, how old is the battery
& was it tested

Are the battery cables clean & tight on both ends?

If you know how to do a voltage drop test on them,
do that

The starter may be bad ,not just the solenoid

All of a sudden my car won't start. The battery is good, lights work It's not clicking like it's trying to start. The engine is okay, the starter usually makes that horrible waahh whiney sound...

it can actually be your starter. many times a bad starter just wont turn at all. it can be that, a short, or the only other thing i can think of would be a blown starter fuse. you can check your fuse box in the engine compartment, it should be like a 50 to 80 amp fuse thats in a little clear box in the fuse section of your fuse compartment. hope this helps. and if fuse is good, you can try poking the starter with a stick and try to start. if it does something after poking it, then its the starter
