When I started my 1994 Ford Tempo today, the alternator light flickered briefly (so quickly I almost missed it.) It was about -10 (-32 windchill) at that time. Could this be from the cold, or should I call my mechanic? Any ideas? Thanks.
Make sure it stays off.Does it come on when you have all of you accessories on or was this a one time issue? If the light isnt on steady or it was a one time issue, just check the connections at the battery & alternator.Make sure you have clean, tight connections. If it comes back on ,steady (with or wiithout accessories) have it checked. It may have been just from the cold or from sitting around.
I would not worry about a flicker! If it was staying on, it would be time to do something.

This is the first time the light has come on. I didn't have anything on, not even the heater, since I was just moving it a short distance. I'm just worried because I drive 30 miles to work... Thanks.
