If its the transmission dipstick you are looking for. Its on the passenger side of the engine at the rear of the engine compartment.........on a 96 it should be red and flip up and then pull it out to remove it.........as for filling you need a funnel with a very small hole at the end and the fluid goes in the hole the dipstick comes out of...........sorry no diagram though.....:(
hope this helps!

Transmission fluid

You need to remove transmission dipstick, use the narow long funnel and pour the transmission fluid that way. Please check the level of transmission fluid only when vehicle was driven for at least half an hour. Park the vehicle on level surface and whit engine off check the transmission dipstick for range of fluid . If fluid is low add carefully to the center mark of the dipstick between minimum and maximum range. Drive vehicle or select each gear down and back holding your brake and at each gear for 10 seconds up and down the shifter. Check the level again and add if needed. Repeat til you have reach that level. Do not overfill it!

Where do you pour transmission fluid in for 1998 Chevy Blazer

There's a red handled dip stick located on the rear of passenger's side of the engine, this is the place you put in the fluid and check the level. A small long necked funnel helps, be carful not to overfill it as doing so may cause a major leak from over pressurization.

Where do I check the transmission fluid

Hi, follow the detailed instruction below on how to check the Transmission fluid on your Chevy Cavalier 2001.
  1. Turn the Cavalier on and put it in neutral. Make sure your hand brake is engaged to keep the car from moving while you work on it. Open your car's hood so that you have access to the engine.
  2. Look for your Cavalier's transmission dipstick. It should stick out from the body of the engine, and be clearly labelled as "transmission fluid." Refer to your Cavalier's owner's manual for a diagram of engine parts if you have trouble locating the dipstick.
  3. Pull the dipstick out and clean it off with a rag. Reinsert the dipstick and pull it out again. Check the end of the dipstick for your reading; the transmission level will be measured on the dipstick by labels like "low," "medium" and "high." If your dipstick has no fluid on it, it means that your Cavalier is almost out of transmission fluid and needs more. A low reading also indicates a need to add more fluid. If the fluid is low, add a bottle of transmission fluid, available for purchase at auto supply shops. Add fluid and repeat this process until your dipstick shows a reading of "high" or "full."

Where do I add automatic transmission fluid for a 1995 Chevy S10 Blazer?

Locate the transmission dipstick tube....on a rear wheel drive vehicle it should be near the firewall, on the passenger side of the car. On a front wheel drive vehicle it will probably be near the firewall on the drivers side of the car. You'll need a funnel with a rather small end to fit inside the dipstick tube.

Your Blazer is a rear wheel drive vehicle.

Fluid level is best and most accurately checked when vehicle has been driven and is up to normal operating temperature and parked on level ground.

With the transmission in Park, and the engine idling, pull the dipstick out of the tube, wipe it with a clean rag all the way to the bottom and re-insert into the tube (making sure it it fully seated).

Then withdraw the dipstick, taking note of the fluid level on the bottom end of the stick.

Be sure to purchase fluid properly formulated for your vehicle.

Add fluid as required, only to "Full when hot" level. Add only enough fluid to bring up to the correct level (be careful to not overfill).

I have a 1996 ford taurus. when i stop it does not go back into gear until i press on the gas. when it runs it runs fine

Check the transmission fluid level.

Do this by turning on vehicle, shift through all gears 2x, then leave in neutral.

Pull the transmission dipstick out, clean it off, insert transmission dipstick and pull out again.

The fluid should be in the crosshatched area.

If it is low you will need to add ATF fluid in the dipstick hole.

Where do you add transmission fluid? I can't find it! 99 Chevy Blazer

There should be a dipstick tube and dipstick on the passenger side of the engine compartment, at the back of the motor, very near the firewall. The dipstick should have a red grab handle on it.

Just looking to add more transmissioin fluid.. not sure where

Underhood Check-check for transmission fluid at the transmission case screwed in with a dipstick. Most GM vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions have such a dipstick.
  • Engine oil--Check the engine oil level.
  • Coolant--Check the radiator coolant level in the reservoir.
  • Battery-- Visually check battery cables and connections.
  • Automatic transmission--Check the fluid level.
  • Master cylinder--Check the fluid level.
  • Power Steering--Check the fluid level.
  • Windshield washer--Check the fluid level.
  • Belts & hoses--Visually check all belts and hoses for wear. NOTE: In addition to the items listed above there are cases with some manufacturer's where odd components such as manual transmission/transaxles and front differentials many be equipped with a dipstick found underhood for fluid level check. If you are unsure of a dipstick on your vehicle, check with the owners manual. 89531p07.jpg

How do i add transmission fluid to my 1996 camry?

If you have a dipstick under your hood for the tranny fluid, then fill it in there slowly... if not, you'll need to fill it through the filler plug that will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point
